Promote trade
With the assigned tasks, this year the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion (under the Department of Industry and Trade of Binh Thuan) has implemented many activities related to this work. Including the Export Trade Promotion program through participation in the Vietnam International Trade Fair - VIETNAM EXPO taking place in Hanoi in April 2023...
Regarding the Domestic Trade Promotion Program, the functional unit has actively mobilized and supported businesses to register to participate in a number of prominent events outside the province. Such as in the third quarter of 2023, participating in the Trade Fair of the Central Highlands provinces (held in Da Nang), the 2023 Southeast Region Trade Fair (in Binh Duong), and the Agricultural, Farmers and Rural Trade Festival (in Vinh Long). Recently, it has also registered to display booths to introduce local products at the OCOP Fair in the Northern region - Quang Ninh (October 2023), the Vietnam International Agricultural Fair 2023 in Can Tho, the Agricultural - Trade Fair - Introducing OCOP products and Tien Giang cuisine (November 2023)... At the end of this year, it is expected to participate in a booth to introduce products at the Exhibition Space of the program "Quintessence of craft villages and regional specialties in 2023" (held in Ho Chi Minh City). In addition, the local Industry and Trade sector also promotes participation in events and programs directed by the Provincial People's Committee in 2023 such as displaying typical agricultural products of Binh Thuan at the exhibition area of the Conference to deploy the Government's action program to implement Resolution No. 26 on the development of the North Central and Central Coast regions (held in Binh Dinh).
Locally, the industry has also successfully promoted the organization of the 2023 Binh Thuan Province Industry and Trade - OCOP Products Exhibition Fair in Phan Thiet City with the participation of more than 200 units, enterprises and nearly 300 booths from many provinces and cities across the country. This year, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion also coordinated to organize 3 Vietnamese goods fairs in rural, mountainous and island areas in Phu Quy, Bac Binh and Ham Tan districts...
Continued support for businesses
Reality shows that in the face of the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine on the world economy, domestic enterprises have also been affected and faced many difficulties, most clearly the decrease in export orders compared to before. For enterprises participating in export activities in Binh Thuan, most of them are small-scale, have little capital and have not invested in processing technology and design, leading to limited competitiveness of products... Therefore, supporting and creating conditions for enterprises and production and business establishments to promote key products, advantages and characteristics through trade promotion activities is very necessary and has practical significance.
To improve the effectiveness of trade promotion, the Department of Industry and Trade of Binh Thuan will work with businesses in the province, especially those involved in import and export activities. Thereby, grasping difficulties, obstacles, recommendations and promptly proposing to competent authorities to consider and support solutions for businesses to develop production - business, connect and expand markets. At the same time, continue to implement the Plan to develop and expand the consumption market for Binh Thuan dragon fruit products domestically and internationally for the period 2021 - 2025. In addition, it is also considering supporting dragon fruit processing and exporting enterprises to participate in prestigious fruit and vegetable exhibitions held in the region and around the world to promote, market products, and seek partners to expand export markets.
In the field of e-commerce, the local industry and trade sector also actively supports businesses to bring key products and Binh Thuan OCOP products to participate in transactions on e-commerce platforms. Creating conditions for businesses to offer products and do business on online platforms to connect foreign importers, domestic and foreign supply chains to promote product introduction and consumption...
Recently, the Department of Industry and Trade of Binh Thuan has also coordinated with the Center for E-commerce Development (under the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy - Ministry of Industry and Trade) to build an e-commerce platform for the three provinces of Binh Thuan - Ninh Thuan - Lam Dong, with the address: sanphamdiaphuong.com.vn. Through that, it focuses on promoting typical products and strengths of the locality as well as connecting supply and demand, consumption of goods and services between businesses and consumers of the three provinces. Currently, the e-commerce platform for the three provinces of Binh Thuan - Ninh Thuan - Lam Dong has attracted 54 businesses to register booths with more than 150 products/services...
