On June 13, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) announced that the second group of the Vietnam national team and Vietnam U23 team (players not named in the match against Hong Kong) will play friendly matches with CAHN Club (June 14) and Hai Phong (June 17).

In addition to the above announcement, VFF added that both matches will take place without spectators and without media activities.
This regulation is to ensure professional requirements from the coaching staff and the experimental nature of the match.
The main members of group two are U23 Vietnam players and some players from the national team such as Nguyen Tien Linh, Trieu Viet Hung and Bui Van Duc.
After three friendly matches between both groups, the French coach will select the most suitable players for the match against Syria.
For the players in group 2, this will be an opportunity for them to score points with coach Troussier and find a chance to join the Vietnam national team.
Meanwhile, the players named in the squad for the match against Hong Kong will need to perform at their best if they do not want to be eliminated.
On the morning of June 13, Coach Troussier and his team arrived in Hai Phong to prepare for the match against Hong Kong (June 15).
That same evening, the players had a practice session at Lach Tray Stadium.
Similar to previous training sessions, Coach Troussier had his players warm up thoroughly to reduce the risk of injury.
The coaching staff of the Vietnamese team divided the players into groups to play against each other, focusing on exercises to develop the ball, pass accurately, move and adjust the body when receiving the ball.
As planned, on June 15, the Vietnamese team will have another training session at Lach Tray Stadium.
