Hanoi FC defeated Quang Nam FC 3-1 in the match of round 13 of V-League 2023 - 2024, on March 8 at Hang Day Stadium. Coach Daiki Iwamasa's students easily scored 3 goals against their opponents in the first half thanks to Joel Tagueu, Xuan Manh and Tuan Hai, before ending the match with 3 full points to temporarily rise to 6th place.
Coach Daiki Iwamasa commented: "The players played well and tried very hard. As you can see, we are going through each match and getting better and better."
This was an incomplete victory for Hanoi FC when Tuan Hai was taken down by Tang Tien in a brutal foul at the end of the match. Mr. Daiki said that more time is needed from the medical team to conclude the condition of the player born in 1998.
Tuan Hai was hospitalized due to injury.
"The Vietnamese team may lose an important player. Such an injury-causing action (Tang Tien fouling Tuan Hai) is very dangerous, hopefully it will be limited in matches. Today was a dangerous case, there are rules to limit it but in reality it still happens. Regarding Tuan Hai's condition, we will wait for an answer from the medical department," said coach Daiki Iwamasa.
The Japanese strategist also informed about Hung Dung's injury: "He is in the process of recovering and training to be ready to return to the team. He is trying very hard to overcome this moment."
On the opposite side, Van Sy Son of Quang Nam team shared: "Quang Nam players are inexperienced and lose focus, so we have to accept unnecessary goals. Quang Nam's force is also limited in many aspects, many players are borrowed from Hanoi team, they have potential but to become great players, we have to wait for time".
He affirmed that the difference between the two teams is very clear because "Hanoi Club is always a strong team with many titles, a style of playing with the ball, passing, and developing the ball".

Regarding the case of Dinh Bac, a young player who was disciplined internally for 3 matches and just returned from the previous round, coach Van Sy Son commented: "We have won 1 match and drawn 3 matches since the beginning of the year, when the whole team did not have Dinh Bac. Quang Nam Club does not depend on any individual. If our team depended on Dinh Bac, he would have been in the starting lineup from the beginning. He is not a big player yet. In this match, Dinh Bac came in late but wanted to prove himself. However, Dinh Bac's performance in this match was not very good."
Quang Nam FC ended the match with only 10 players, when defender Tang Tien received a red card in the last minute. The player wearing the number 4 shirt had a rough tackle on Tuan Hai, initially the referee only gave him a yellow card, but then changed it to a red card when reviewing the slow-motion replay. With the unsporting foul, Tang Tien is at risk of receiving a late penalty.
Coach Van Sy Son commented: "The loss of a player is a disadvantage. I personally encourage players to play fair-play, aggressively but within the rules. If Tang Tien intentionally destroys, in addition to the penalty from VFF, I will also discipline internally. I never like such violent plays."
