With a bright smile, Coach Kim Sang Sik shared about the Vietnamese team's achievement: "The 2024 AFF Cup championship is the result of the whole team's efforts. Not only me and the players, the fans and leaders also contributed to this achievement. Until now, I still can't believe we won the championship."
Talking about the preparation for the 2024 AFF Cup championship, the Korean coach shared: "I have prepared plans before this tournament. However, I also told the players that if we do not change, the team will fail. I have analyzed a lot for the players throughout the past journey."
Supachok's controversial goal was the subject of heated debate after the 2024 AFF Cup final. Spotvnews asked coach Kim Sang Sik how he felt after witnessing the Thai player's goal. The Korean strategist said: "It was a surprise goal. It shouldn't have been scored.
We faced many difficulties in the second leg of the final, with the unexpected injury of Xuan Son. However, with the will to win and pride, the players have excellently overcome adversity. I have experienced a roller coaster of emotions, constantly going back and forth between heaven and hell."

Coach Kim Sang Sik also admitted to feeling surprised by the affection of Vietnamese fans: "Everyone, from children to the elderly, recognized me. I am truly grateful for the precious affection of the Vietnamese people. When I took a taxi, the driver refused to accept money. When I went to a coffee shop, I was also given a free ride.
They said I worked hard and congratulated me. Also, Koreans living in Vietnam thanked me every time they saw me. I was touched by that gesture."
Talking about Vietnamese players, the coach born in 1976 said: "Vietnamese players have quite good physical strength. Even if you apply the training program in Korea, they can still follow.
We went to Korea to train in cold conditions. However, after completing the training trip, none of the players caught a cold. The players were much stronger than I thought."
Finally, coach Kim Sang Sik emphasized the goal of winning a ticket to the 2030 World Cup for the Vietnamese team. He said: "I believe that if we perform well in the future, we will continue to be stronger. The Vietnamese team will do our best to bring joy to Vietnamese fans.
Our dream is to qualify for the 2030 World Cup. The whole team will do our best to make that dream come true. To go further, the Vietnamese team needs to have a good youth training system and actively naturalize players from abroad to adapt to the times."
