Coach Kim Sang-sik reveals mandatory tasks, if you can't do it, quit

"In interviews, people ask me what my leadership secret is. I answer that as a coach, teacher, training and educating players is a natural thing," coach Kim Sang-sik shared at an exchange session organized by the representative company. The Korean coach emphasized that this is a mandatory task that every coach must do after signing a contract with any team.

The head coach of the Vietnam national team said: "In every team, that is the basic thing. If you can't do it, you should quit, because that means you are not capable of working in this field. Of course I have to do that, along with the support team."

Kim Sang-sik has little experience as a head coach. The Vietnam national team is only the second team that the former Korean player has led. Before that, he was the head coach of Jeonbuk FC in Korea for 2 years.

"When I inherited this job, I felt a great responsibility. There were things I planned for and things I didn't expect, but I prepared step by step. Above all, I tried my best to connect with Vietnamese players and Vietnamese fans.

Little by little, I learned. And then when there were shortcomings, I asked Coach Park Hang Seo for advice. I also consulted local coaches on all matters. I took each step to understand the players," Coach Kim Sang-sik shared.

The former Korean player also said that he does not consider his job as simply teaching players. An important detail in the way coach Kim Sang-sik works is to create a comfortable and happy atmosphere for all members of the team. "He's very funny and witty, but he also seems very scary. He's witty in many different ways. But as a football coach, you always have to have authority.
