Coach Polking: 'I'm disappointed'

Coach Alexandre Polking and his team were defeated with a score of 1-2, thereby remaining in 7th place with 17 points, 8 points behind the top.
"I'm disappointed with the result, but that's football," said coach Polking. The German coach took over CAHN in the middle of last season, when the team was in the middle of the table. After 1 year of coaching, the former coach of the Thai national team has not been able to make a difference in the V-League.

Coach Polking's team was 2 goals behind and only managed to score an honorable goal in the 85th minute.
"The Cong Viettel is a good team with a good coach. I know how they approach the game and discussed with the whole team before the match. However, The Cong Viettel defended tightly and had good counter-attacks. They scored goals from such counter-attacks," said coach Polking.
CAHN Club will play The Cong Viettel again in round 14 at Hang Day Stadium. According to coach Polking, this is a turning point match for CAHN Club to keep their hopes of winning the championship alive. If they lose, CAHN Club will be 11 points behind their opponent and will find it very difficult to compete.
"CAHN Club needs to focus on the match next Sunday. Because that is an important match for us to continue to nurture our championship hopes. If we don't have a good result in that match, our championship goal will be very difficult," Mr. Polking affirmed.

The German strategist also said that CAHN Club had to reluctantly play long balls against The Cong Viettel, especially in the final minutes of the match because there was not enough time to coordinate short balls.
"Having to play long balls is part of the team's plan. My Dinh Stadium is better than what we expected from this field. We want to play low balls. However, due to the lack of playing time, we are forced to use long balls to move the ball up the field as quickly as possible. Of course, this will not be the style of play we want to play in the upcoming match," Mr. Polking concluded.
Coach Duc Thang: The Cong Viettel will compete for the championship
Viettel The Cong Club officially won the first leg when defeating CAHN Club in the make-up match of round 11. With 25 points after 13 rounds, the army team is 1 point ahead of second-place Nam Dinh.
"Previously, we set a target of top 3 and now we are ready to compete for the championship. That is the assigned target and The Cong Viettel is always ready. We do not allow ourselves to be left out of the championship race. The tournament is only halfway through and the opponents behind us have also shown a lot of desire. We need to try harder to compete for the throne," coach Nguyen Duc Thang emphasized.

The Cong Viettel played a tight counter-attacking defense to defeat CAHN Club. Sharing about the tactics, Mr. Duc Thang said that the effective pressing method of his students, combined with the fact that CAHN Club had lost their physical strength, was the key to The Cong Viettel's victory.
"We pressed, put a lot of pressure on CAHN Club so that they could not develop the ball. That was the best way to neutralize the attacking style of the players who played very technical football on the other team. Concentrated defense and quick transition when there was a chance to counterattack.

Coach Nguyen Duc Thang also praised Truong Tien Anh, the author of the opening goal of the match. "A place to play in the Vietnam national team is a worthy reward for Tien Anh.
