Before leading Viettel The Cong, Coach Duc Thang had a very successful time as head coach of Binh Dinh Club.

In the past, Coach Nguyen Duc Thang participated in youth training at The Cong Viettel before making his mark by helping Saigon FC win the 2015 First Division championship to play in the V-League.

Moving to lead Thanh Hoa Club, the strategist born in 1976 continued to impress with a double of runner-up in V-League season 2018 and National Cup season 2018.

Regarding the playing style he will build for The Cong Viettel, Coach Duc Thang said: "I will strive to build a football philosophy, identity and playing style for The Cong Viettel players.

On the day The Cong Viettel Club welcomed the new coach, captain Bui Tien Dung said: "Coach Duc Thang shared very openly in the first meeting about the difficulties and challenges of the whole team.

There is still more than a month before the club tournaments return and the whole team is very focused on regaining spirit, fitness and building a playing style. Coach Duc Thang has a lot of experience in the V-League and we will try our best to return with a different face and better results."
