Goals were scored by Nguyen Thanh Thao (HCMC, 10') and Romulo (Nam Dinh, 60').

The highlight of the match was a series of tense situations in the last 20 minutes of the match. Referee Nguyen Viet Duan had to issue a total of 7 yellow cards - including 2 cards for the head coaches of both teams, and 2 red cards for Dao Quoc Gia (HCMC) and Romulo (Nam Dinh) for hitting their opponents.

Coach Vu Hong Viet of the team from Thanh Nam said: "I feel very sorry to draw at home. This result slightly affects the championship race when we missed the opportunity to break away.

We created many scoring chances from our build-up play, but our strikers were unlucky in the final stages. This is an area that needs improvement.

In the remaining matches, our opponents are not weak. Having reached this stage, each team will play with their own purpose, playing for themselves.

The leading teams are determined to gain more points to compete for the championship. Similarly, the teams at the bottom want to escape relegation. Nam Dinh FC needs to focus and solve each match one by one to achieve the goal of this season."

On the side of Ho Chi Minh City Club, Head Coach Phung Thanh Phuong shared: "Our goal is to get at least 1 point away from home. In today's match, the whole team scored an early goal and played with great spirit. I think we completely deserved all 3 points.

The middle group of the rankings has not yet ensured a safe distance from the bottom group. Ho Chi Minh City Club will still try to accumulate points in each round to have a safer ranking."

In round 19 of V-League 2024 - 2025, Ho Chi Minh City Club will have a very difficult away match against Cong An Ha Noi Club at Hang Day Stadium on April 18. Meanwhile, Nam Dinh Club will visit SHB Da Nang, who are at the bottom of the rankings, on April 20.
