Before the match against Nottingham Forest in the early morning of April 2, coach Ruben Amorim spoke up to confirm the future of captain Bruno Fernandes at Man United.
The Portuguese tactician has made it clear Fernandes will not be going anywhere this summer after he was linked with a move to Real Madrid.
“That’s not going to happen. I want him here because we want to win the Premier League back. So the team needs to have the best players. So Fernandes is not going anywhere,” the Man United manager added.
Asked why he could be so sure, coach Amorim said: “We are in control of the situation and he is really happy here. Fernandes is not going anywhere because I have told him.”
Bruno Fernandes continues to be Man United's best player this season. The Portuguese midfielder has scored 16 goals in 44 games. After 277 appearances for the "red devils", he has 95 goals and 81 assists.
Since Fernandes signed in January 2020, Man United have failed to compete for the Champions League or Premier League.
They are currently 13th in the Premier League this season with 37 points, 33 points behind leaders Liverpool.
Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford is said to have no chance of returning to Man United as his relationship with coach Amorim has broken down. Currently, Rashford is very happy when he is on loan at Aston Villa.
The 27-year-old striker was also recalled to the England squad at the FIFA Days in March. He impressed when he played in both matches and contributed goals.
