Mang Den Market takes place on the last Saturday and Sunday of the month at the pine hill, Hung Vuong Street, Mang Den Town. This is a new way to attract tourists and create a new space and destination. The market was initiated by Kon Plong District and Mang Den Tourism Association.
Visiting the weekend market, visitors will enjoy delicious, rustic dishes from 24 stalls, including 9 communal houses by communes and towns introducing local products. Along with that, the market also displays, introduces, buys and sells OCOP products, medicinal herbs and typical agricultural products... of 9 communes, towns and cooperatives in the district.
Local products are sold at the market as a way to promote local cuisine and handicrafts to tourists. In the photo, two young women weave brocade and sell dried bamboo shoots at the market.
In the cold weather, living and immersing yourself in the cultural space of the Central Highlands is what any tourist wishes to experience once they set foot on this land.
Mang Den Town is located in the south of Kon Plong District, on the Mang Den Plateau, at an altitude of about 1,200m above sea level. National Highway 24 passes through the town, about 50km northeast of Kon Tum City and about 140km southwest of Quang Ngai City. Mang Den is always "busy" on weekends with many destinations and tourist spaces imbued with the character of the highlands.
Mang Den Market displays culinary products, brocade cloth and rustic decorations under stalls made from bamboo, forest trees and thatched roofs (a type of wild grass), creating an unforgettable space for visitors when exploring this land known as "the second Da Lat".
Many tourists coming to explore Mang Den market cannot miss the "snack" stall with rustic dishes associated with childhood such as grilled sweet potatoes, grilled corn...
The small, pretty bunches of fruit grown by local people are displayed and sold at the market to tourists.
Standing in the middle of a pine forest in the chilly weather when night falls, watching and enjoying rustic dishes, immersing yourself in nature is nothing more wonderful for tourists coming to explore this small town.
Chairman of Mang Den Tourism Association Bui Viet Ha said that the Kon Plong District People's Committee has assigned the Association to operate the market. Activities at the market have been basically stable since its establishment. Many domestic and foreign tourists have come to experience it. They are very excited about the space arrangement, architecture as well as the special dishes at the market. This is also a very happy thing and also the initial success of the Association.
Amidst the colorful cultural space of the Central Highlands, visitors will enjoy the melodies of Central Highlands gongs resounding by the firelight.
In addition to food, the market also displays, promotes and sells many types of medicinal herbs for tourists to buy as gifts.
