To ensure the progress of the bid packages, right in the first days of 2025, the working atmosphere at the large construction site of Long Thanh International Airport project (Long Thanh airport) is extremely urgent. At the bid packages, there are hundreds of construction teams with nearly 7,000 experts, engineers, workers, laborers and nearly 3,000 construction equipment.

To ensure the progress of the bid packages, right in the first days of 2025, the working atmosphere at the large construction site of Long Thanh International Airport project (Long Thanh airport) is extremely urgent. At the bid packages, there are hundreds of construction teams with nearly 7,000 experts, engineers, workers, laborers and nearly 3,000 construction equipment.

The passenger terminal, considered the "heart" of the Long Thanh airport project phase 1, is being accelerated.

In package 5.10, construction and equipment installation of Long Thanh airport passenger terminal, all reinforced concrete work for underground floors 1F, 2F, 3F, 4F has been completed. Brick wall construction work on 1F has reached 80% in the central area and 20% in the wing area. Construction of the telescopic bridge foundation has been implemented.

For the passenger terminal steel structure, the main steel truss production has been completed 100% for the wing area and 61% for the central area.

The main steel truss erection for the wing area is 96% complete and 41% complete for the central area.

The work of processing and manufacturing the glass wall support frame system is in progress and is expected to be installed on site by the end of December 2024.

For package 4.6, construction of runways, taxiways, and aircraft parking lots, after more than 1 year since the start of construction, the joint venture contractor has completed the foundation and subgrade and is currently constructing the surface layer with a volume of about 94%.

With the current progress, the runway will be completed and put into technical operation before April 30, 2025 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), 3 months ahead of the contract schedule.

For the construction of the second runway, currently, Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) has selected a design consultant and a consulting unit; established and reviewed the basic design. At the same time, established and reviewed the feasibility study report to adjust the Component Project 3, Long Thanh Airport Construction Investment Project Phase 1.

ACV is directing contractors to speed up construction progress for other packages of the Long Thanh airport project, ensuring synchronous operation in September 2026.
