At the opening ceremony of the new school year today, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Tu Anh - Principal of the University of Information Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) - said that the AI (artificial intelligence) era is opening up great opportunities but at the same time also posing many challenges for new students.

Going to college is just the starting point, don't be too subjective and ambitious.

As Gen Z, new students are known as citizens of the digital age, the AI era and the new generation that is changing the world.

"Entering university is just the starting point, don't be too subjective or too ambitious. Student life is wonderful, but there are also many difficulties, challenges, and temptations waiting for you ahead.

So don't get lost in social media, TikTok, live a healthy life, and importantly, balance between studying, entertainment and staying away from pitfalls," Ms. Tu Anh advised.

The female principal also believes that machines today not only perform tasks assigned by humans but also have the ability to learn, adapt, and even be creative.

Therefore, studying at the University of Information Technology is not only about acquiring knowledge but also about developing critical thinking skills, creativity and adaptability.

"Students will not only learn from books and lectures in class, but also from reality, from practical projects, from interactions with friends, colleagues and teachers. These are the factors that help them develop comprehensively, not only in terms of knowledge but also in terms of skills and self-worth," Ms. Tu Anh shared.

In the context of the AI era and the digital age, learning is not simply about acquiring knowledge but also about developing self-learning skills, adaptability and a spirit of lifelong learning.

"Technology will continue to develop, the world will continue to change, and what we learn today may become obsolete in the near future. Therefore, your task is not only to learn what your teachers teach, but also to explore, learn, and constantly renew yourself," the principal emphasized.

"The university environment is full of pitfalls. If you make a mistake, you won't be able to return."

In a recent conversation with new students of the University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University), Mr. Tran Ba Duong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of THACO Group - advised young people to try to take advantage of the university environment during their studies, as it is a valuable foundation and asset in their future lives.

From his own story as a student at the University of Technology to the chairman of THACO Group, Mr. Tran Ba Duong had words to send to new students with the hope that they can prepare well for their new journey in the lecture hall.

According to Mr. Duong, discipline in the university environment is closely linked to autonomy, and this is the highest level of discipline. In the university environment, you almost have a certain amount of freedom, but this is also the time when you are torn between future goals and immediate pleasures.

You can see that learning is vast and immense. Therefore, it is necessary to know how to filter, concentrate and train thinking right from the first year, when starting to study basic science subjects.

All the knowledge that teachers impart is the basis for you to practice thinking and solve problems.

You should not only focus on expertise but also on management knowledge.

When you can manage your time and your life, you will definitely be able to take on the role of managing and leading a business.

In this university environment, students can take on leadership roles, assert their abilities and commit to the community.

We always have challenges, difficulties, and these things make us more mature. All are in the multidimensional interactive relationship in learning, in life and in the environment in which we will commit, will grow, live and work in the coming time.

Mr. Tran Ba Duong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of THACO Group:

The Line Between Gain and Loss

All the knowledge that teachers impart is not only the basis for students to practice thinking and solve problems. You will have to face the responsibility for yourself and your own life. You need to prove your ability and make efforts to make your parents and teachers trust you.

All these issues lead to the line between loss and gain. We spend a lot of effort to get something, but if we make just a small mistake, we will lose everything.

It can be said that the university environment has many difficulties and challenges, many pitfalls, and if we are careless, we will not be able to return, but it is the foundation of all foundations in our lives later on.

We have the right to be proud of our intellectual foundation, fundamental foundation and academic achievements. Do not lose out on the many opportunities for development during university time in the city environment, but also many pitfalls to stumble upon.
