On the afternoon of August 30, speaking with VietNamNet, Mr. Hoang Van Viet, Principal of Quang Vinh Primary School, Trung Khanh District, said that he had just received 1.8 tons of rice for boarding school meals from two benefactors.

"I'm so happy, the students have rice to eat! On behalf of the school, I would like to thank everyone for their help and encouragement over the past few days," Mr. Viet said emotionally.

According to Mr. Viet, the water has now receded from the school, and the locality and school are cleaning up and preparing for the opening day of the new school year.

Regarding the recent flood, Mr. Viet said that the school has compiled statistics and reported to the district People's Committee, estimating the damage at about 400 million VND.
