According to Mr. Bui Long An, after being assigned the position of principal by the Provincial People's Committee, he signed the graduation certificates for students who met the graduation requirements. Previously, on June 14, Quang Nam Medical College sent a document to the People's Committee of Quang Nam province requesting to issue temporary graduation certificates to graduating students.

According to the document, currently, Quang Nam Medical College only has 2 Vice Principals, according to regulations, no one has the authority to sign the graduation certificates for students who have reached the graduation period.

Given the above reality, Quang Nam Medical College respectfully requests the People's Committee of Quang Nam province to allow Mr. Bui Long An - Vice Principal, to sign and issue temporary graduation certificates to students graduating this term with an expected number of 120 students (including the joint training system and the regular system).

In March 2024, Quang Nam Provincial Police issued a decision to initiate a criminal case to investigate the crime of abusing position and power while performing official duties at Quang Nam Medical College.

Specifically, the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Nam Province Police has initiated a case and prosecuted Mr. Huynh Tan Tuan - Principal of Quang Nam Medical College, and Mr. Nguyen Ba - former Principal of Quang Nam Medical College.

In addition, authorities also prosecuted the school's accountant and a business director directly involved in this incident.
