The women's cooperative producing tofu in Kenh village, Tay Do commune (Hung Ha) supports members in promoting and consuming products.
The tofu production facility of Ms. Tran Thi Sau, Kenh Thon village, Tay Do commune is one of the most famous tofu production facilities in the village. Ms. Sau shared: Every day, everyone in the family starts a new day from 00:00 until morning. Making tofu not only brings a stable income but it is also the pride of the family when preserving and developing the traditional profession. Since joining the Kenh Thon village women's tofu production group, we do not have to worry about product output, the women guide each other to produce quality and safe products, competitive in the market, meeting the requirements of consumers, moving towards being recognized as OCOP products.
In May 2023, the Kenh Village Tofu Production Women's Cooperative was established with 15 members. Since its establishment, the Cooperative has maintained its operating routine, supporting members in promoting and consuming products on platforms such as Zalo, Facebook, etc. Each Cooperative member registers to produce 50kg or more per day. During the implementation process, the Commune Women's Union coordinated with banks to support Cooperative members in borrowing capital to expand production. Ms. Tran Thi Minh Hue, President of the Tay Do Commune Women's Union, said: The Cooperative's establishment and operation will gradually create jobs, increase income for families, and support each other in economic development.
Quang Trung commune's export crop growing cooperative group has promoted efficiency.
In 2022, the Quang Trung Commune Export Crops Cooperative was established with the participation of 25 members. The Commune Women's Union assigned the Cooperative to divide into 5 groups, each group responsible for an area to borrow abandoned fields to grow crops to raise funds. Since its establishment, the Cooperative has borrowed 15 hectares of fields for women to grow squash, peanuts, green squash, and sweet corn. In the first year, the Cooperative sold 36 tons of squash, earning 260 million VND, 7 tons of sweet corn earning 38 million VND, and after deducting expenses, it earned more than 200 million VND in profit. After deducting expenses for the women, the Cooperative allocated 40 million VND to raise funds to support women and children in difficult circumstances in the commune. Ms. Tran Thi Nhai, President of the Quang Trung Commune Women's Union, said: Up to now, the Cooperative's capital fund is more than 70 million VND. We bought Bao Viet cards to give to 10 poor women, supporting them with interest-free loans to develop the economy; in addition, every year, the THT also allocates funds to support 5 poor children entering the new school year. In the coming time, we will coordinate with units to organize training on production techniques for members; focus on supporting members to access and effectively use preferential loans; integrate the THT's activities with campaigns, emulation movements and key tasks of the association.
Currently, the Women's Union of Hung Ha district has established 10 cooperatives managed by women. Ms. Dinh Thi The, President of the Women's Union of the district, said: To support cooperatives to operate effectively, the Women's Union of the district coordinates training, improving management and operational capacity for cooperatives; consulting and vocational training for members. The Union also actively supports business start-up projects, startups to access preferential capital sources to invest in expanding production, thereby helping women introduce business types, services of the association, cooperatives to the market, contributing significantly to solving output and building brands for agricultural products and goods. In addition, we also support promoting and building brands, finding markets and organizing production activities according to value chains for qualified models to increase the value of products; Focus on discovering, nurturing, praising, and promoting models and typical collectives and individuals with good and effective practices; encourage the replication of collective economic models established by women.
With their hard-working hands and persistent will, Hung Ha women not only preserve traditional values but also affirm their pioneering role in economic development, building a prosperous and happy life. Women's cooperatives are not simply production and business models but also a place to share and aspire to rise up, contributing to lighting up beliefs, continuing to write the beautiful story of women in the new era.
