Cyber security expert Hieu PC shares important knowledge about information security and how to prevent online fraud for students.

The behavior of cyber criminals is increasingly sophisticated when taking advantage of information leaks from the dark web to create fake and fraudulent websites. Among them, common scam situations that young users may encounter are: Phishing emails; links with strange URLs, Ransomware (malware that encrypts data or locks the system, forcing victims to pay ransom to restore)...

These are common "tricks" to steal personal information, bank account information and even blackmail. In 2023, the Information Security Department introduced 24 forms of cyber fraud.

These practical contents were shared by cybersecurity expert Hieu PC in the online course "Application of AI in learning" organized by FPT University for free exclusively for high school students nationwide.

Revealing the secret to preventing online fraud

By participating in the course, high school students practice with AI tools, are guided by instructors to use AI to support information searching, homework, and learning skills development, helping them raise awareness of information security and understand the dangers on the Internet and safety techniques in the face of technological developments.

In particular, speaker Hieu PC (Ngo Minh Hieu) shared 10 practical measures for students to protect themselves in cyberspace, emphasizing the use of strong passwords and not using one password for multiple accounts, enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) to enhance security. At the same time, set up a firewall to prevent unauthorized access, install reliable programs to protect against viruses and malware.

He also advised students not to disclose personal information that needs to be kept confidential such as phone numbers, addresses, personal emails, etc. to avoid being taken advantage of by bad guys.

In addition, you also need to regularly update software and operating systems to minimize security vulnerabilities and conduct regular security checks to ensure safety when participating in the digital environment.

Thanh Nhan, a student participating in the course, said: "Through the course, I learned a lot of things, learned many features and knew how to use the Chat GPT tool more correctly and effectively. More importantly, I learned ways to protect myself in cyberspace."

Currently, the course "Application of AI in learning" has attracted more than 5,000 students nationwide to participate, with the desire to contribute to spreading technological knowledge to the community in the strongest way.

Hieu PC (real name Ngo Minh Hieu) is a leading cybersecurity expert in Vietnam. He used to be a notorious "black hat" hacker, then became a "white hat hacker" with great contributions to the cybersecurity community.

His journey from a hacker facing prison in the US to becoming a cybersecurity expert honored by many major technology corporations has inspired many people.

He has directly participated in detecting and fixing security vulnerabilities for large systems, and at the same time shared his knowledge and experience to raise awareness of network security in the community.
