In the 2019 - 2024 term, thoroughly grasping the viewpoints and policies of the Party and the Vietnam Fatherland Front on building and promoting the tradition of great national unity, over the past 5 years, under the close leadership of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Standing Committee of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province has closely coordinated with member organizations, synchronously and effectively deployed solutions to strengthen and consolidate the great national unity bloc; mobilized people to join hands and actively participate in effectively implementing emulation movements, making an important contribution to the overall development of Lao Cai province.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the province has strongly innovated the content and methods of operation; improved the quality of information and propaganda; diversified forms of mobilizing and gathering people; actively carried out social supervision and criticism, and contributed ideas to Party and government building.
Campaigns launched by the Front, activities for the poor, relief and social security have been effectively implemented; the Front's organizational structure and specialized staff have been consolidated and improved; qualifications and capacity have been constantly improved.
The great national unity bloc has been strengthened; the sense of responsibility and creativity of the people have been promoted; people's opinions have been respected, creating social consensus for the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws. The position and role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front have been increasingly affirmed in the political system and social life. People's lives have been constantly improved and enhanced; national defense and security have been maintained, contributing to building Lao Cai province to be increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized.
With determination and continuous efforts, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province is honored to receive the Emulation Flag and Certificate of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front every year; many collectives and individuals have been awarded many noble forms at all levels.
With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Creativity - Development", the congress took place over 2 days (July 15 and 16), with the task of comprehensively assessing the situation and results of implementing the Resolution of the 15th Provincial Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2019 - 2024; pointing out the shortcomings, limitations and causes, drawing practical lessons; on that basis, determining the goals and building the action program of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Lao Cai province for the term 2024 - 2029.
On the afternoon of the first working day, the congress was divided into 3 discussion centers. Discussion Center No. 1 had the following content: “Tasks and solutions to improve the effectiveness of propaganda, mobilization, gathering people of all walks of life and strengthening the organization, innovating the content and methods of operation of the Fatherland Front at all levels”; Discussion Center No. 2 had the following content: “Tasks and solutions to implement movements, campaigns, social security work and building self-governing, united, prosperous and happy residential areas”; Discussion Center No. 3 had the following content: “Tasks and solutions in supervision, social criticism, participation in Party building, government building, the Law on implementing democracy at the grassroots level and people's foreign affairs”.
At the discussion centers, delegates focused on giving opinions, evaluating and analyzing the achieved results as well as the limitations and shortcomings, on that basis agreeing on lessons learned, objective and subjective causes, targets and solutions for implementation in the 2024 - 2029 term.
At the congress, delegates presented papers on a number of issues, such as promoting the creativity of intellectuals to effectively implement the movement "Solidarity, creativity, improving productivity, quality, efficiency, international integration", "Effectively implementing propaganda and mobilization work to build civilization and self-management in the area", "Experience and solutions to spread new directions for the development of agricultural products, medicinal herbs, and goods on the market"... On the afternoon of July 15, the congress consulted and elected members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province for the 16th term, 2024 - 2029, including 85 members who are qualified, capable, and have the qualities to meet the requirements and tasks of the new term, an increase of 5 members compared to the 15th term.
