Donating land to join hands in building new rural areas - Lang Son Newspaper and Radio and Television Station

- In recent years, the movement of donating land to build new rural areas (NTM) has received positive responses from people in the province, thereby contributing to the completion of the goals and tasks of building NTM, changing the face of the countryside, and improving people's lives.

The Cai Kinh - Tan Thanh - Ho Son inter-commune road (Huu Lung district) was built thanks to land donations from the people.

In mid-March 2025, having the opportunity to visit Dong Ben village, Cai Kinh commune, Huu Lung district, we clearly felt the changes in this countryside, the concrete roads created favorable conditions for people to travel, trade, the environment was bright - green - clean - beautiful...

Mr. Nguyen Van That, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Dong Ben Village, said: Dong Ben Village has over 200 households, previously the village's traffic infrastructure and cultural facilities were limited. Implementing the new rural construction program, Dong Ben Village has actively promoted and mobilized people to join hands. As a result, from 2019 to present, people in the village have donated nearly 5,000 m2 of land to expand and concretize rural roads, build bridges, repair the village cultural house, contributing to completing the criteria: traffic, culture... Thereby, contributing significantly to bringing Cai Kinh commune to meet the new rural standards in 2019 and advanced new rural standards in 2024.

Not only the people of Dong Ben village, but also the people in the villages and communes in the province have actively joined hands to contribute and donate "golden inches" to implement the criteria for building new rural areas. Mr. Nguyen Tuan Uy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Tham commune, Binh Gia district, said: In 2024, the commune was selected as a model commune striving to meet the new rural standards. After reviewing, at the beginning of the year, the commune had only met 10/19 criteria. Among the criteria that had not been met, there were criteria for transportation, cultural facilities, and schools, which were difficult criteria. To have a site, the People's Committee of the commune coordinated with relevant agencies to organize propaganda on the implementation of new rural construction to all villages in the area. For each specific project, the People's Committee of the commune also organized propaganda and mobilized each household. Thereby, people understood and actively donated land to create a site for the projects. In 2024, local people donated more than 25,000 square meters of land to build roads, cultural houses, public works... By the end of 2024, the commune was recognized as a commune that met NTM standards.

Along with Hoa Tham commune, in recent times, in order to mobilize people to join hands in building the new rural area, all levels and functional sectors have promoted propaganda and mobilization work so that people can better understand the purpose, meaning and role of implementing the new rural criteria. In 2024, all levels and functional sectors in the province organized 3,953 conferences and specialized activities to propagate and integrate the national target program on building new rural areas.

Mr. Hoang The Canh, Dinh Lap town, Dinh Lap district said: My family has more than 30 hectares of hilly forest land in Cuong Loi commune. In 2024, when Cuong Loi commune had a policy to build a 6 km long commune road through my family's land, I donated 15,000 m2 of hilly forest land to create a road surface. Along with the land donation of my family and other households, the completed road created favorable conditions for people to travel, while contributing to consolidating and improving the quality of traffic criteria in building new rural areas in Cuong Loi commune.

From the propaganda and mobilization work of all levels and sectors, now the donation of land for rural infrastructure construction has become a movement with widespread influence.

In 2024, people in the province donated more than 69,000 m2 of land, directly contributing to the implementation of traffic criteria, cultural facilities, etc. The completed works have created favorable conditions for people's lives and production development. Up to now, the whole province has 113/181 communes meeting criterion No. 2 on traffic, 111/181 communes meeting criterion No. 5 on schools, 111/181 communes meeting criterion No. 6 on cultural facilities; the whole province has 106 communes meeting new rural standards.

With the results achieved, we believe that in the coming time, people in the province will continue to join hands and donate land to implement the NTM criteria. Thereby, contributing significantly to the implementation of the common goals and tasks of NTM construction in the province.
