The port system and logistics services are increasingly being invested in, helping fishermen feel secure in their work at sea and contributing to local economic growth. Besides traditional fishing, the aquaculture industry in Song Doc is transforming towards high technology, increasing the value and sustainability of its products.

Mr. Le Hoang Quan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Song Doc town, shared: "In recent years, the locality has focused on developing urban infrastructure, especially the investment in building a bridge across the Ong Doc river, creating favorable conditions for trade, fishing, and seafood processing. The town also pays attention to protecting the marine environment and developing the economy in conjunction with sustainable urbanization."

Thanks to continuous efforts, in 2024, the Party Committee, government, and people of Song Doc town were honored to receive the decision of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Tran Van Thoi district, recognizing Song Doc town as a civilized urban area.

With investment and attention from all levels of government, the infrastructure in Song Doc has been undergoing significant changes. The transportation system has been upgraded, streets have been widened, and the urban landscape is green, clean, and beautiful. In particular, the bridge across the Ong Doc River has been built, creating a significant advantage for the development of the marine economy, elevating the urban area, and contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Tinh, Director of Trung Tinh One-Member Limited Company in Song Doc town, said: "Since the infrastructure was invested in, travel and goods transportation have become much more convenient. Especially since the Song Ong Doc bridge was completed and put into use, it has helped businesses in the area shorten the distance for transporting goods, thereby saving costs and time. The fishing port is always bustling, prices are more stable, and people's lives are also more prosperous than before."

In addition, the monument complex commemorating the Northward Regrouping Ship has been built and completed, becoming an important historical site that enriches the historical values and spiritual life of the people of this coastal region. Mr. Tran Van Quoc, from Hamlet 2, Song Doc town, happily said: "The construction of the monument complex commemorating the Northward Regrouping Ship is a source of pride for the people of Song Doc. This is not only an important historical site but also a highlight for spiritual life, educating the younger generation about the heroic traditions of our ancestors."

Alongside economic development, the government and people of Song Doc are also concerned with protecting the marine environment. Movements to improve sanitation, reduce plastic waste, and protect coral reefs are being actively implemented. In addition, socio-cultural life has also improved significantly, with the school system, hospitals, and cultural centers becoming increasingly complete, meeting the needs of the people.

The Nghinh Ong Song Doc Festival is a distinctive cultural and religious feature of the coastal residents of Song Doc.

Today, the traditional values of the fishing village are still preserved through cultural activities and fishing festivals. Movements of solidarity and mutual assistance in life have created a strong community.
