The patient was admitted to the hospital with a headache, dizziness, and weakness on the left side of his body. According to his family, the teenager was completely healthy, had no underlying medical conditions, and was obese.
A few days before being admitted to the hospital, the patient complained of headache and dizziness. He bought medicine to take but it did not help.
After taking the patient's medical history, the doctors suspected a stroke and ordered a brain MRI. The results showed that the patient had a cerebellar and pons infarction due to a blockage of the basilar artery.
According to the hospital doctor, the blood test results showed lipid disorders, a risk factor leading to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular problems.
In addition, when performing in-depth tests, the patient was found to have abnormalities in the genetic system that increased the risk of thromboembolism.
Doctors also said that this patient was very young, but had a pathology between the cerebellum, pons and lipid disorders, leading to a very serious condition. Therefore, emergency measures were quickly taken, consultation with the Stroke Center of Bach Mai Hospital and appropriate treatment methods were developed for the patient.
After a long period of treatment and recovery, the patient gradually stabilized and recovered basic motor function. The patient's health was monitored and treated with rehabilitation exercises to restore the body's mobility.
Doctors also warned people about the importance of monitoring and taking care of their own health, especially not to self-treat at home, which can make the disease worse.
In particular, you should maintain a balanced diet, limit foods high in cholesterol, exercise regularly and control your weight.
Especially for those with a family history of cardiovascular disease, stroke or risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, regular health check-ups become even more important.
