Wholeheartedly help Agent Orange victims

Promoting the tradition of "Solidarity - Affection - Responsibility - For Victims of Agent Orange", the Association of Victims of Agent Orange in Cai Lay district constantly strives to overcome difficulties to build an increasingly strong Association, always focusing on the grassroots, directly reaching out to each family of Victims of Agent Orange to encourage, comfort and help with practical actions, close to the life of each victim's family.

Thanks to good information and propaganda work, the Executive Committee of the Association assigned cadres and members with advantages, favorable conditions, social positions and good relationships with agencies, units and philanthropists, so the annual resource mobilization always achieved and exceeded the set targets.

Over the past years, the Association at all levels in Cai Lay district has mobilized a total of over 1 billion VND each year; in 2024 alone, it mobilized 1.3 billion VND. With the mobilized amount, depending on the circumstances of each victim's family, the Association organizes appropriate support and assistance.

The most common form is to build and give "Agent Orange Shelter" houses to victims with housing difficulties; give wheelchairs and rocking chairs to disabled victims; organize delegations to visit, give gifts, necessities and subsidies to victims of Agent Orange on holidays, New Year, big full moon days, and national anniversaries.

In the past time, thanks to good propaganda and resource mobilization, the Association in communes has done a good job of mobilizing funds such as: Tan Phong, Hiep Duc, My Long, Thanh Loc, Long Tien. The Chairman of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange in Cai Lay district said, I visited many families of Victims of Agent Orange in the district, witnessed the suffering of the victims, I and my brothers in the Executive Committee of the Association regularly visited and encouraged; at the same time, mobilized benefactors to help.

With the help of the Association and philanthropists, many victims have overcome difficulties to improve their lives. Typical examples include NNCĐDC Tran Van Truong (My Thanh Bac commune); Phan Van Con (Binh Phu commune); Le Van Trang (Thanh Loc commune)...

The extraordinary willpower of the Agent Orange victims that touched people's hearts was Do Thi Khuyen, a victim in My Long commune who was paralyzed in both legs. She sold lottery tickets to support her family, but was also determined to play swimming and became a disabled athlete with high achievements known throughout the country (won more than 10 Gold and Silver medals).

Or the victim Nguyen Van Thom, Long Tien commune, has paralyzed legs, a weak body, every day sitting on a shaking car, exposed to rain and sun, selling lottery tickets to support his family, including 2 elderly people over 70 years old.

With practical and effective work, helping many victims of Agent Orange overcome their fate and improve their lives, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange in Cai Lay district has been highly appreciated by superiors for many years; awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; and awarded many Certificates of Merit by the Association of Victims of Agent Orange in Tien Giang province and the People's Committee of Cai Lay district...
