HEINEKEN Vietnam has just officially announced that it has achieved its ambition of achieving water balance by 2030 in the Tien River basin, 5 years ahead of schedule. Accordingly, the company returns a total of 690,640,000 liters of water to nature here each year, more than the total amount of water used in products and evaporated during the production process at the Tien Giang Brewery. This significant achievement is the result of close collaboration between HEINEKEN Vietnam and strategic partners, including the Ministry
of Agriculture and Environment, WWF-Vietnam, Tien Giang provincial departments and agencies, and the Dong Thap Muoi Protection Forest and Ecological Reserve Management Board. This is not only an important milestone in HEINEKEN Vietnam’s sustainability journey, but also a significant contribution to the country’s efforts to protect water resources, especially in areas under severe water stress.

This result was achieved thanks to the continuous efforts and close cooperation of the parties in implementing many activities to conserve water resources in the Dong Thap Muoi Ecological Reserve, including: planting and caring for 12.3 hectares of Melaleuca forests and native trees, consulting on the design and development of a hydrological management strategy; supporting the adjustment of water regulation sluice gates and providing mobile pumps on boats to ensure fire prevention. In addition, the project also organized training to enhance the capacity of hydrological management and biodiversity protection for local officials, and communicated to raise awareness among local people about the importance of protecting water resources.
