Newton Inter-level System: 15 years of affirming the model of advanced education

The 15th anniversary celebration of the Newton Inter-level School System was held at the Indoor Athletics Palace (My Dinh) with the participation of delegates representing the Ministry of Education and Training, Central Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

Representatives of the Hanoi education sector included Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong; units, departments and offices under the Department, Bac Tu Liem district, Thanh Oai district and many guests who were parents and students of the entire system.

The highlight of the celebration was the impressive parade of 26 groups of students and teachers representing the Newton Inter-level School System; followed by special and elaborately staged performances; songs and dances with majestic, soulful melodies and beautiful lighting.

15 years of affirming position

Speaking at the ceremony, teacher Hoang Thi Man, Principal of Newton Secondary and High School, emotionally recalled the memories of the early days of the school's establishment. Accordingly, the Newton Inter-level School System was established in 2009. In the early days, the school's facilities had to be rented, and the team of teachers and staff consisted of only 21 people.

Now, Newton System is proud to have 4 campuses with more than 8,500 students, over 1,000 Vietnamese and international staff, teachers and employees. In September 2024, the System continued to start construction of the 5th school - Newton Westlake Inter-level School in Nam Thang Long Urban Area, Tay Ho District.

After 15 years of establishment and development, Newton Inter-level School System has grown and expanded in scale, increasingly affirming its position as a modern, high-quality educational model on the educational map of the Capital.

In 2012, Newton was one of the first high schools to implement the international bilingual model. The school always achieved a 100% graduation and university entrance rate with an average exam score among the top in Hanoi. In 2016, Newton was recognized as a Level 2 National Standard School.

In 2018, the school officially became Cambridge International School; in 2020, Newton was the first school in Hanoi to implement online teaching due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic. In 2022, the school achieved international accreditation from the Cognia Organization - USA.

Next, in 2023, Newton was the first private school in Hanoi to have students selected for the national excellent student team to participate in the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) and won the highest prize overall. In 2024, the school had 5 students in the Hanoi team to compete in the national excellent student competition and 2 official members in the team to compete in the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO 2024).

Teacher Hoang Thi Man believes that one of the lucky things about Newton School is that it always receives the trust, sharing, and understanding of parents and the spirit of constant effort, striving, and eagerness to learn from students over the years.

With outstanding achievements, over the past 15 years, Newton Inter-level School System has been honored to receive Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training 6 times; 3 times received the title of Excellent Labor Collective from the Hanoi People's Committee; teachers Le Thi Bich Dung and Hoang Thi Man won the Hanoi Dedicated and Creative Teachers Award, along with many other noble awards.

Choosing to study Newton - a right decision

Returning to Vietnam on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the school's founding, Dr. Pham Minh Thanh, a former student of the first course, one of the youngest PhDs in Vietnam, reminisced about the new and bewildering memories of the days when he and his friends first set foot in the new school.

Like many of his friends at that time, Minh Thanh was admitted to many famous and prestigious public schools in Hanoi but chose Newton - a newly established school as a place to study and commit to. Here, Minh Thanh and his students were entrusted by teachers with the desire and ambition of a generation of Vietnamese people reaching international standards in the near future.
