Stage next to Saigon River witnesses unlimited creativity
Along the windy Saigon River, the musical Legendary Train - the highlight of the 2nd Ho Chi Minh City River Festival - mobilized nearly 1,000 actors and singers... bringing overwhelming emotions to the audience.
The 90-minute legendary cruise will open the Ho Chi Minh City River Festival at 8:00 p.m. on May 31 at Nha Rong Khanh Hoi - Saigon Port.
If in season 1 (2023), The Story River is a panoramic cultural picture of Gia Dinh - Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City through hundreds of years of history, reminiscing about memories along the river and down the stream of history, Legendary Train season 2 will tell modern historical stories taking place right on this stream through the chapters: Launching , Arriving , Setting sail , Making waves , Reaching far .
With a massive scenario, the main stage became the space outside Saigon Port. On the river, the ship Amiral Latouche-Treville with its journey associated with the destiny of the entire Vietnamese nation - the journey to find a way to save the country of the young man Nguyen Tat Thanh - was recreated magnificently and vividly.
It is also the story of special trains that came and went on the Saigon River.
Those were also the first Vietnamese ships launched, the resounding battles on the river by the Rung Sac commandos, the reunion ships after decades of separation, the ships bringing Vietnamese brands to all 5 continents...
Continuing to take on the role of general director this year, director Le Hai Yen said the most special thing about the program is the space.
"The large and airy space right next to the Saigon River becomes an unlimited space for creativity for the musical, full of riverside atmosphere, taking viewers from one surprise to another," the director shared.
With cinematic effects, 3D Mapping projection technology, water screens, water moving stages, drone performances, fireworks..., the program promises to not only satisfy the eyes but also sublimate all emotions, leaving a deep impression in the hearts of the audience and visitors attending the opening ceremony of this year's River Festival .
The show will have exciting climaxes with grand scenes, emotional highlights, delving into the characters' inner psyches, exploiting historical stories and anecdotes about historical figures in important historical contexts.
These are scenes associated with special train trips, such as revolutionary Ton Duc Thang mobilizing workers at the Ba Son shipyard to strike, demand salary increases, delay repairs to the Admiral Jules Michelet in the French warship fleet...; such as the conversation from the hands "Here, here is the money" of Ba (Nguyen Tat Thanh's alias) and Le before Nguyen Tat Thanh left to find a way to save the country.
