The UEFA Referees Committee has announced that Francois Letexier, a Frenchman, will be the referee for the EURO 2024 final between Spain and England. The match will take place at 02:00 on July 15 (Vietnam time) at Olympia Stadium in Berlin, Germany.
The 35-year-old referee has been an international referee since 2017 and has officiated 65 official UEFA matches in his career.
At this year's EURO finals, he officiated three matches, including Spain vs Georgia in the round of 16 and two group stage matches between Denmark vs Serbia and Croatia vs Albania. He was also the fourth official at the opening match between Germany and Scotland in Munich.
Last season, Letexier worked at 10 UEFA club matches in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and was the fourth official at the final between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid at Wembley.
He will also referee the 2023 UEFA Super Cup between Manchester City and Sevilla FC in Piraeus, Greece.
The members participating as assistants to Letexier at the EURO 2024 final are Cyril Mugnier and Mehdi Rahmouni (both France), while Szymon Marciniak (Poland) will be the fourth referee.
The role of video referee (VAR) was assigned to Jerome Brisard (France), assisted by Willy Delajod (France) and Massimiliano Irrati (Italy).
Mr. Tomasz Listkiewicz (Poland) plays the role of backup assistant referee.
