City People's Council approves policy on rearranging commune-level administrative units - Lang Son Newspaper and Radio and Television Station

- On the afternoon of April 21, the People's Council of Lang Son city held its twentieth session (special session) to discuss and approve a number of contents under its authority. Attending the session were comrade Phung Quang Hoi, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee.

At the meeting, the City People's Committee reported the results of collecting voters' opinions, the voting results of the People's Councils of administrative units related to the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Lang Son city; a report on the issuance of a Resolution of the City People's Council approving the policy of establishing 4 commune-level administrative units.

Based on the policies and guiding documents of the central government and the province, after reviewing, collecting statistics, analyzing and evaluating natural conditions, population, historical factors, cultural traditions, economy, geopolitics, national defense and security, the city proposed to establish 4 wards on the basis of arranging 5 commune-level administrative units of Cao Loc district with 8 commune-level administrative units of Lang Son city.

Specifically: establishing Tam Thanh ward on the basis of merging the natural area and population of Tam Thanh ward and Hoang Dong commune; establishing Chi Lang ward on the basis of merging the natural area and population of Chi Lang ward and Quang Lac commune; establishing Hoang Van Thu ward on the basis of merging the natural area and population of 5 commune-level administrative units including: Hoang Van Thu ward (Lang Son city), Cao Loc town and the communes: Hop Thanh, Tan Lien, Gia Cat (Cao Loc district); establishing Dong Kinh ward on the basis of merging the natural area and population of 4 commune-level administrative units including: Vinh Trai ward, Dong Kinh ward, Mai Pha commune (Lang Son city) and Yen Trach commune (Cao Loc district).

Delegates passed the resolution at the meeting.

Based on research and careful discussion, delegates unanimously approved the Resolution of the City People's Council on approving the policy of arranging commune-level administrative units.

During the program, delegates also studied, discussed and approved the reports of the City People's Council on the issuance of the Resolution of the City People's Council on adjusting Resolution No. 100/NQ-HDND dated July 25, 2024 on the supervision program of the Lang Son City People's Council in 2025; the report of the City People's Committee on the issuance of the Resolution of the City People's Council confirming the results of the dismissal of members of the XXI City People's Committee, term 2021 - 2026 for Ms. Hoang Thi Tuyet Nhung, Head of the Department of Organization and Personnel (Provincial Police), former Head of the City Police and Ms. Nong Thi Hoa, Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, former Head of the City Economic Department.

Comrade Phung Quang Hoi, Secretary of the City Party Committee, gave a speech at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, the Secretary of the City Party Committee requested delegates to focus on widely disseminating the tasks of reorganizing the apparatus, especially the commune-level administrative units, to cadres, party members and people of all walks of life, creating trust and support for the Party's policies.

At the same time, promote the role and responsibility of the City People's Council in implementing tasks and solutions to reorganize commune-level administrative units; focus on coordinating to develop plans to arrange and assign staff, civil servants, public employees and workers under the scope of management to ensure reasonableness and suitability.

He requested the City People's Council to continue to clearly identify key tasks in order to propose solutions to implement the upcoming goals of administrative unit arrangement; proactively review the tasks and socio-economic development goals of new administrative units after being decided by competent authorities to have sustainable development orientation in the coming time.
