On the afternoon of April 6, PVF-CAND defeated Hue Club in round 13 of the First Division 2024-2025 season.

Before entering the match, PVF-CAND was having difficulty in the championship race when they were only ranked 3rd with 21 points. 11 points behind the leading team Phu Dong Ninh Binh and 3 points behind the 2nd team Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc.

Therefore, the championship seems to be a distant goal for coach Thach Bao Khanh and his team. Now, they must focus on competing for 2nd place to have a play-off spot to gain the right to be promoted to V-League next season.

Facing Hue FC, PVF-CAND was rated as the superior team. However, the home team encountered a tight defense from the Central representative.

In that difficult situation, an unexpected advantage came to coach Thach Bao Khanh's team when Hue Club no longer had an official goalkeeper to play.

In the 29th minute, reserve goalkeeper Tien Dung was injured and had to leave the field.

Before that, the main goalkeeper Vo Duc Bao also got hurt and had to leave the field early. With only 2 goalkeepers brought to the North, Hue Club reluctantly made defender Quoc Anh become the goalkeeper.

However, the away team still stood firm throughout the first half despite being given 12 minutes of added time. Huy Hung and his teammates accepted being "held back" by the away team in the first half.

However, things changed completely in the second half. PVF-CAND successfully took advantage of the fact that the away team had to use a goalkeeper. The strikers of coach Thach Bao Khanh's team continuously fired at the Hue Club's goal.

Anh Tuan, Xuan Bac and Thanh Nhan scored three goals in a row for the home team. The reluctant goalkeeper Quoc Anh looked helpless against the shots from PVF-CAND.

In the end, coach Thach Bao Khanh's team won a resounding 3-0 victory over Hue Club. PVF-CAND (24 points) temporarily had the same score as Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc.

Binh Phuoc Club will face Ho Chi Minh City Youth Club at 6:00 p.m. on April 6.
