Like my colleagues at Lao Cai Newspaper – the official mouthpiece of the Provincial Party Committee, the voice of the Party Committee, the government, and the people of all ethnic groups in Lao Cai province – I am aware of the mission of a writer and my responsibility in every page I write and every photograph I take to record events during my work. Each work carries the breath and reality of life flowing hour by hour, day by day, in the political , economic, and social life of the locality…
Continuing the 62-year tradition since the first issue of Lao Cai Newspaper (April 10, 1963 - April 10, 2025), with a solid foundation laid by previous generations of journalists, we, the current generation of journalists, are writing new chapters in the history of Lao Cai Newspaper throughout the journey we have been involved in. The journalistic experience passed down by previous generations of reporters, editors, and journalists at Lao Cai Newspaper to the younger generation continues through various historical periods and the ups and downs of the locality and the country.
Recalling my early days in the profession, I and other young reporters were guided, mentored, and supported by our senior colleagues at the Lao Cai Newspaper. They helped us in our fieldwork, as well as in editing and refining every word and expression in our articles. After each such experience, my knowledge and journalistic skills grew, and I became more confident in my work. Over the past 62 years, I have made significant contributions to the Lao Cai Newspaper, now totaling 20 years. Regardless of my position, I have always been proud of my writing career and have always strived to do my best to become a professional journalist, confident in every aspect of my work.

These field trips have given writers like me so much positive energy, making us love life even more. The highland villages, the inspiring stories of people overcoming hardship, and the cultural identity of the ethnic minorities in Lao Cai have nurtured my emotions. As a female journalist, facing countless difficulties, but with the discipline honed in a professional journalistic environment at Lao Cai Newspaper, I have confidently overcome obstacles to deliver information to readers as quickly and truthfully as possible. The prestige and position of Lao Cai Newspaper are increasingly affirmed – becoming a common home for professional journalists, a place where writers can freely pursue their passion and create high-quality journalistic works.

Over the past years, my colleagues and I at Lao Cai Newspaper have made many contributions to the overall achievements of Lao Cai province's journalism, which have been recognized with annual awards at the provincial and national levels. I have received the Encouragement Award at the National Journalism Awards; reached the final round of the National Golden Hammer and Sickle Award; won the A prize in the provincial journalism competition; and won the A prize in the writing competition on Party building... In 2023, I received the Special Prize in the writing competition on green architecture organized by the Ministry of Construction . However, for me and many of my colleagues in journalism, we understand one simple truth: the most valuable reward for a writer is the trust and affection of their readers.
With a strategic focus on print journalism as its foundation and online journalism as its spearhead for breakthroughs, Lao Cai Newspaper has set a goal for the future: to become the province's leading multi-media communication agency, pioneering in providing official information about Lao Cai and contributing to shaping public opinion. In line with this overall development and strategic direction, I and the staff of Lao Cai Newspaper have committed ourselves to continuous innovation and self-renewal. Based on a firm commitment to the ideals and principles of the newspaper, I have diligently trained and honed my modern journalistic skills, especially in this era of rapid digital transformation.

Now, I, along with other reporters and editors, have become proficient in the professional skills and journalistic processes of a converged newsroom, actively creating modern, engaging, and attractive journalistic works for readers. The contributions of each reporter, editor, and technician are all aimed at elevating the status of Lao Cai Newspaper…

Moreover, keeping pace with the digital age, the fanpage and YouTube channel of Lao Cai Newspaper have spread the journalistic works of its reporters to a wider audience online. This adaptation was marked by the fact that in 2024, Lao Cai Newspaper was ranked excellent in terms of its maturity in digital transformation of journalism, ranking second among 62 local media outlets nationwide.
Twenty years in journalism may not be a long time, but it has left a lasting mark on my life as a journalist. Within the 62-year history of Lao Cai Newspaper, I and my colleagues in the editorial office are always proud to be part of this shared home – the place where we have been and continue to be connected.

From this April, Lao Cai Newspaper embarks on a new journey in its 62-year history, strengthened by the addition of television and radio media following the streamlining and consolidation of local media agencies. My colleagues and I will have the opportunity to fully pursue our passion for journalism in this new field with a new mindset, dedication, and commitment to our work, contributing to spreading positive and humane values, and building trust in society through every page of the newspaper, on radio and television programs, and online news...
