Despite facing many risks when carrying a rare multiple pregnancy, Ms. Truong Thi Giang (Nguyen Du ward, Ha Tinh city) still decided to keep all 3 children. And luck smiled when the 3 daughters were born, gradually growing up with a beautiful, lovely appearance.
When they found out they were pregnant with triplets, Truong Thi Giang and her husband had to face many problems.
Thinking back on their journey of pregnancy and childbirth, Ms. Truong Thi Giang (born in 1989) and Mr. Nguyen Gia Duong (born in 1988) still cannot help but be moved. After giving birth to their first son by cesarean section in 2016, at the end of 2018, Ms. Giang was diagnosed by the doctor with extremely rare natural triplets. It was triplets sharing the same placenta, different amniotic sacs. That means there are 3 fetuses in 3 different amniotic sacs but sharing the same placenta, the same blood supply.
This is also the time when the couple had to face dangers for mother and child such as: twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, risk of preeclampsia, fetal distress... Despite facing countless dangers and risks for both mother and baby, Giang and her husband were still determined to keep all 3 children.
The boundless happiness of the family of Ms. Truong Thi Giang and Mr. Nguyen Gia Duong with their 4 children
"When the chances were not high and there was too little time to think, my husband and I still decided to bet on fate. It was a long journey full of tears because during those days I always felt worried and nervous waiting for the appointment with the doctor in Hanoi to hear the results about the children. Luckily, at the 10-week mark, the doctor announced that the fetus was developing stably. Only then did I breathe a sigh of relief to begin a long journey..." - Ms. Giang confided.
From the time she was pregnant until before giving birth to her three daughters, Ms. Giang only gained 7.5 kg. She could hardly eat much because she was tired and afraid of gaining weight quickly and having gestational diabetes. In the last months of pregnancy, she turned around a lot, pushing on both sides of her ribs, making her extremely tired. However, the fact that the three children developed steadily, within safe limits, was a great motivation for the mother to overcome everything.
Two months before the expected date of birth, she suddenly went into labor and her water broke. At this time, unable to give birth in Hanoi as planned, her family decided to have a cesarean section at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. After many hardships and difficulties, the happy ending for Giang and her husband was when the babies Ngoc Diep - Ngoc Ha - Ngoc Anh were born weighing 1kg - 1.5kg - 1.6kg. Because they were born prematurely before 33 weeks, the babies were quickly taken to the intensive care unit. After 10 days, Giang was able to see and meet her babies for the first time. "That moment was probably the most sacred moment in my life and I always promised myself to do the best for my beloved children" - Giang recalled.
Although born prematurely, Ngoc Diep - Ngoc Ha - Ngoc Anh were all fed exclusively with breast milk.
Ms. Giang said: "Having triplets, everything we need to buy for the children, such as diapers, milk, clothes... has to be tripled. Sometimes my family has to mobilize all our forces to take turns taking care of the children. But in return, the children are obedient, well-behaved, and very cooperative with my parenting methods."
In particular, despite having triplets, Ms. Giang still breastfeeds her children completely, even having extra milk to share with the other children. And what's even more amazing is that the children grow very quickly, their developmental milestones are stable and normal, and they rarely get sick.
Ms. Giang always respects children's interests and creates all conditions for them to be free and explore new things.
To help her children develop in the best way, Ms. Giang chose to become a freelancer to spend full time with her children. Thanks to the support of her husband and both families, she has confidently entered a new life with a mix of busyness, stress, joy and happiness.
With the viewpoint of respecting their children's interests and letting them develop freely, the couple always tries to let their children go out to explore and discover new things. At the same time, they are always an example for their children about love and solidarity in the family. Thanks to that, all 4 children grow up healthy and lovely, and she also enjoys the joy of being a mother that nothing can compare to.
