Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the world, with more than 17 million deaths each year. In Vietnam, this number is constantly increasing, putting great pressure on the health system. Faced with this situation, Hong Ngoc Hospital has continuously invested heavily in technology and human resources to provide advanced treatment solutions, saving the lives of thousands of patients.

Invest heavily in technology and people

In order to meet the increasing demand for treatment, Hong Ngoc Hospital has equipped many advanced medical devices. One of the leading technologies is the Revolution EVO 128-row coronary CT scanner from GE Healthcare (USA). This is a non-invasive, multidimensional cardiovascular imaging device that does not use X-rays, giving highly accurate results.

In addition, the Philips EPIQ Elite cardiac Doppler and Versana Balance vascular Doppler provide powerful signal processing, enhancing the sharpness and realism of ultrasound images.

In particular, Hong Ngoc is one of the first hospitals in Vietnam to invest in the most modern CT scanning system in the world, with the ability to detect microscopic lesions, helping to screen for cardiovascular disease early.

Along with investing in technology, Hong Ngoc also focuses on improving the quality of the medical staff. The hospital's cardiovascular experts are not only highly trained and experienced, but also regularly participate in scientific conferences. A typical example is Master-Doctor Nguyen Van Hai, Head of the Interventional Cardiology Department, who studied and worked at leading medical centers such as Samsung Medical Center and has many reports at major cardiovascular conferences.

Pioneering application of new cardiovascular intervention techniques

Thousands of cardiovascular patients at Hong Ngoc Hospital have been successfully treated thanks to advanced intervention techniques, such as coronary stent placement, drug-coated balloon angioplasty, and pacemaker placement. In particular, the drug-coated balloon angioplasty technique is being applied to help reopen blood vessels without leaving a stent after the intervention, reducing the risk of restenosis. This is an effective solution for patients with small vessel lesions, restenosis in old stents, especially suitable for the elderly with underlying diseases.

Recently, Hong Ngoc Hospital has deployed the non-invasive coronary flow reserve fractional software (vFFR) for the first time in the North. This technique helps doctors accurately assess vascular damage without placing devices in the body, reducing complications and shortening treatment time for patients. At the International Conference on "Advances in Cardiovascular Intervention", Master - Doctor Nguyen Van Hai directly performed a drug-coated balloon angioplasty intervention for a 65-year-old patient, applying the vFFR software, marking a new step forward in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases in Vietnam.

From September 2023 to September 2024, Hong Ngoc performed nearly 200 cardiovascular interventions, with a success rate of over 98%. Many complicated cases, such as common trunk occlusion and stent restenosis, were successfully treated by doctors thanks to the support of technology, demonstrating Hong Ngoc's pioneering role in updating new technical advances.

On that proud, yet thorny journey, Hong Ngoc Hospital and the Interventional Cardiology Department have been constantly striving to bring new life to thousands of patients. With a strong commitment and a high sense of responsibility, Hong Ngoc will continue to invest heavily in technology, aiming to build a modern and comprehensive Interventional Cardiology Center in Vietnam.
