Thanks to focusing on digital transformation, MB has made a leap in customer scale, increasing the number of customers from 4 million in the first year to 25 million customers in 2023. By the end of October 2023, MB recorded 1.6 billion transactions on digital channels with a transaction value of 7 million billion VND. Of which, the MBBank App alone recorded 20 million transactions/day. The transaction scale on the digital platform remained high at 96%, equivalent to the top banks in Asia. At the same time, MB is a bank in the Top applications with more than 10 million active accounts in Vietnam.

As of September 30, 2023, the total assets of MB Group reached VND 815,881 billion, an increase of 12% compared to 2022. Consolidated credit grew positively with the total outstanding debt of the Group reaching nearly VND 577,000 billion, equivalent to an increase of about 14% compared to the previous year. MB's consolidated pre-tax profit reached more than VND 20,000 billion, recording a growth of 10% compared to the first 9 months of 2022. The above results show that, even in the context of the general economy facing many difficulties and challenges, MB still maintains a positive growth momentum, bringing increased benefits to customers and shareholders.

Aiming for 30 million customers on the occasion of 30th anniversary of establishment 1994-2024

In a letter sent to MB Group staff on the occasion of its 29th anniversary, Mr. Luu Trung Thai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MB, affirmed that MB over the past 29 years and the upcoming journey has always been steadfast in its mission of “For the development of the country, For the benefit of customers”. “The new values ​​created for customers and organizations are the result of a profound combination of technology and banking and financial expertise”, the head of MB emphasized.

MB Chairman Luu Trung Thai spreads the customer-conquering mindset at MB, which is “to create the simplest possible customer experience”. For example, if a financial service has 10 steps, MB tries to reduce it to 3 steps. The steps must be arranged reasonably, as simple as possible, easy to see, easy to operate, with few touches. “Excellent and reasonable service will retain customers”, he affirmed.

In the past 5 years, MB has continuously invested systematically to implement its digital transformation strategy. MB spends about 50 million USD each year on independent technology infrastructure, training technology human resources in the bank and implementing a series of projects on automation, applying Robotics to operational processes, and improving the system. As one of the banks with the largest team of human resources and technology experts today, with over 2,000 people - accounting for 10% of the total staff of the bank, MB currently has a human resource structure similar to a company operating in the technology sector.

MB focuses on developing a digital ecosystem on two platforms, App MBBank (individual customers) and BIZ MBBank (corporate customers), continuously refining and developing new features to improve customer experience, even the smallest experiences.

Marking its 29th birthday, MB recorded 25 million customers, equivalent to 25% of Vietnam's population having an account at MB. In the upcoming goal, MB plans to conquer 30 million customers, celebrating its 30th birthday in 2024.

Hi MB 29 – HiGreen!

Also on the occasion of its 29th anniversary, MB officially launched the HiGreen – Green Dawn campaign. This is a Participatory CSR campaign initiated and sponsored by MB, aiming to convey the message of sustainable living, caring for the environment and the community to 25 million customers and society. The campaign, part of MB’s ESG strategy, aims to mobilize 15.6 billion VND, expected to attract 150,000 participants through sports activities, direct support and smart volunteer accumulation.

HiGreen campaign aims to convey the message of sustainable living, caring for the environment and community to 25 million customers and society.

With the goal of “Turning landfills into playgrounds”, the funds raised will be sponsored by social enterprise Think Playgrounds (TPG) and other social organizations to renovate spontaneous landfills, build playgrounds, and environmentally friendly and sustainable public spaces in Hanoi, Hoi An, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City. These projects will serve at least 10,000 children and 50,000 people and promote equal access for disadvantaged communities (poor people, immigrants, people with disabilities, etc.).
