Davipharm – 20-year journey from humble beginnings to trend pioneer

Established in 2004 with a factory in Binh Duong, Davipharm - a member of Adamed Group, has grown from a small enterprise to one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in Vietnam.

Achievements of sales and marketing team

Starting with an exclusive distribution channel, Davipharm established a sales team through the retail and hospital systems in June 2020. From the early days, the team had only 6 employees, by 2024 it had increased to 130 members, including the Sales, Marketing and Medical teams. In 2020, Davipharm only reached about 100 pharmacies, now the company's products are available at 12,000 pharmacies nationwide.

What makes Davipharm different in the industry is its commitment to providing high-quality products that meet EU-GMP standards, and technology transfer from Adamed Pharma – one of the leading pharmaceutical and biological companies in Poland. Combined with flexible and professional services that are tailored to the needs of customers, Davipharm has created a competitive advantage in the market.

Amidst the race to build factories that meet EU-GMP standards, the merger trend between international corporations and domestic pharmaceutical companies, and the renegotiation of drug prices in bidding, Davipharm still maintains its pioneering position with good products at affordable prices.

2021 is an important milestone for Davipharm with the certification of the first HP Zone in Vietnam specializing in the production of highly active solid drugs, including cancer treatment drugs. In the same year, the company received the first EU-GMP certificate, becoming one of the few pharmaceutical companies in Vietnam to achieve this prestigious quality standard.

2022 marked another notable achievement when Davipharm successfully won a national bid, with a total bid value of over VND700 billion. Davipharm's high-quality products and services have won the trust of medical professionals at hospitals and pharmacies nationwide.

According to IQVIA's Q1/2024 report, compared to the same period last year, Davipharm grew strongly by 28%, while the Vietnamese pharmaceutical market increased by 7%. For the retail channel, the market increased by 3%, Davipharm increased by 17%. For the hospital channel, the market increased by 13%, Davipharm increased by 37%. Marketing activities, increased awareness of high-quality products and dedicated customer service have helped Davipharm rise to 21st place in the pharmaceutical market rankings. Among domestic companies, Davipharm rose to 9th place, and for prescription drugs in hospitals, the company is now the 5th unit in terms of sales.

Expanding vision and future strategy

In 2024, Davipharm participated in most major scientific conferences organized by associations and hospitals nationwide, reaching more than 2,000 doctors. The company also provided educational programs on pathology and products to 6,000 pharmacies, and was present at domestic and international pharmaceutical exhibitions.

New product launches focus on cardiovascular, diabetes and men’s health. Davipharm has introduced the website themlauthemdamsau.com, which helps patients self-assess their men’s health status, receive advice via hotline and order prescription drugs online. For the distribution channel, new features have also been developed such as registering for long-term engagement programs, tracking sales and estimating customer rewards.

In coordination with the Department of Preventive Medicine - Ministry of Health from 2021, the company will annually organize a free screening program for non-communicable diseases at pharmacies. In 2024, the program will be implemented in Hanoi, Da Nang, Dak Lak, Nha Trang, Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City, with the goal of screening a total of 10,000 patients.

Davipharm has been implementing important strategies and initiatives to improve its ability to meet growing market demand. The retail channel aims to bring Davipharm products to 20,000 pharmacies, with at least 10 products in each pharmacy. For the hospital channel, Davipharm aims to be present in most of the main product packages in national bidding, to be the first choice of doctors, to provide products that meet international standards at reasonable prices, thereby reducing the financial burden on Vietnamese patients.

With the ambition to become the leading pharmaceutical manufacturer and the number one pharmaceutical exporter in Vietnam, Davipharm plans to invest in infrastructure to increase production and warehousing capacity, developing 12 new products annually for the international market.

Davipharm’s development journey over the past 20 years is a testament to its relentless commitment to teamwork and flexibility, working towards a common vision. Continuous efforts have brought about outstanding achievements that have taken Davipharm to new heights in the pharmaceutical industry.
