Hundreds of motorbikes were 'forgotten' at the district police headquarters

On the afternoon of November 6, Kbang District Police (Gia Lai) announced the search for the vehicle owner, manager and driver who violated administrative regulations and are currently being detained at the district police headquarters.

According to information from the authorities, from the beginning of 2021 until now, in the process of patrolling, controlling and handling violations of traffic safety and order, as well as investigating traffic accidents, Kbang District Police have discovered, drawn up records and decided to temporarily detain 230 motorbikes and motorbikes for administrative violations.

Of the 230 vehicles detained, 180 motorbikes had their frame and engine numbers not tampered with or altered; 49 motorbikes were assembled, modified, or had their designs altered; and 1 motorbike had its frame and engine numbers tampered with or altered.

Most of these vehicles are registered in Gia Lai with 145 vehicles; 16 vehicles have no license plates; 15 vehicles have license plates from Binh Dinh province; 7 vehicles have license plates from Hanoi; 7 vehicles have license plates from Ho Chi Minh City. The remaining are scattered in provinces and cities across the country.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duc Hoang, although the above vehicles have expired, to date, the owners, managers and related people have not come forward to resolve the issue. Some cases have come forward but have not been able to provide documents proving legal ownership of the seized vehicles.

Agencies, organizations and individuals who are owners, managers, legal users, or related to the above-detained vehicles are requested to bring legal documents to the Traffic Police - Order Team, Kbang District Police, Gia Lai Province for settlement.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duc Hoang said that after 30 days from the date of announcement, if no one comes to resolve the issue, the unit will carry out procedures to confiscate the vehicle and consult with competent authorities to approve the auction plan and add it to the State budget according to regulations.
