Hundreds of students residing at the Ho Chi Minh City National University dormitory participated in the Fire Prevention and Rescue Sports Festival, organized by the Dormitory Management Center, in coordination with the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Force of Binh Duong Province Police.
The students residing in the dormitory are divided into 8 rapid response teams to compete, corresponding to 8 housing cluster management boards. Each team has 15 members, including 12 official members and 3 reserve members.
The most exciting part was the competition in the practical exam.

In the first event, the teams performed a series of challenges including a 100m firefighting run using sacks and fire extinguishers, combined with rescuing people and property.
Because the competition is in the form of two opposing teams, in addition to accuracy, speed is also required.
Many students passed the fire-fighting challenge in a flash, but some had to cover the fire with burlap several times before it could be extinguished.
There were also groups of people who neatly carried the injured onto stretchers, but there were also students who accidentally tripped and fell halfway.
Nong Van Vu - a student at the University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) - shared that his team's motto is to make sure every step is done.
Van Vu was assigned to rescue the victim. Although he was in a hurry due to the competition pace, he still prioritized carefully locking the rope before starting to carry the victim.

In the second event, student teams will compete in firefighting with a B-shaped nozzle, combining focus spraying and simulating firefighting operations in high-rise buildings.
The mausoleum was connected to a specialized fire truck by the teams, then the water was turned on and the hose was used to hit the target.
Despite being a woman, Nguyen Tran Thuy Tien - a student at the University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) - was assigned by the team to hold the nozzle to shoot the target.
"The nozzle is not heavy, but it is important to shoot accurately. I think because I can aim quite accurately, the team trusted me with this important responsibility," said student Thuy Tien.

Nearly 40 fire prevention programs for students
A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City National University Dormitory Management Center said that the sports festival is an activity in the center's annual work plan, focusing on propaganda, experience and practice of fire prevention and fighting for boarding students.
From June 2024 to present, the center has organized 21 propaganda, experience and fire prevention and fighting practice sessions with the participation of 4,120 students.
By the end of 2024, the center will organize 38 programs with the goal of having at least one student participating in each room and a total of at least 30% of resident students participating in these activities.
Also on the morning of October 26, the Dormitory Management Center of Ho Chi Minh City National University also coordinated with the fire prevention and fighting and rescue police force of Binh Duong Provincial Police to organize a competition for fire prevention, fighting and rescue soldiers at apartment buildings and high-rise buildings in Binh Duong province.
