Since the afternoon of June 17, the gold market has been flooded with information that Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) has stopped selling gold directly at stores and switched to accepting gold purchase registrations via text messages.
This morning, June 18, speaking with a reporter from Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, SJC said it is still open for trading to meet customer demand. At the same time, the company is also implementing a plan to soon allow customers to register to buy gold online, instead of queuing up directly to buy gold as is currently the case.
In fact, at 8:00 a.m. this morning, hundreds of people continued to line up in front of the SJC Company headquarters on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City to get numbers and wait to buy SJC gold bars.
Security staff at the headquarters announced that people who had bought gold here within 2 weeks would not be allowed to buy more, so many people left.

The crowd dispersed after local police arrived to check and SJC announced a temporary suspension of trading.
In addition, local police also came to assess the situation and disperse the crowds and people loitering along both sides of the road, causing disorder and traffic safety.
At 8:55 a.m., SJC Company announced that it would temporarily stop issuing queue numbers and would reopen at 1 p.m. the same day, surprising many people who came to buy gold.
Ms. PT (living in District 10) said she was quite surprised by the announcement of stopping the lottery because she had been waiting since 6am. "I lined up early, and when I was about to enter, it stopped again. The company announced that it would not be distributed again until 1pm" - Ms. T said.
