Antara News Agency builds information ecosystem in the digital age

Indonesian Minister of Communications and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid stressed that the role of Antara news agency is becoming increasingly strategic, especially in the era of digital transformation.

According to a VNA reporter in Jakarta, at the ceremony to celebrate the 87th anniversary of the founding of Indonesia's national news agency Antara on December 13, General Director Akhmad Munir affirmed that Antara will continue to develop its journalism activities in the direction of the digital era.

He called for and encouraged the solidarity of Antara staff, reporters and editors from all over the country and abroad, grasping new development trends and together creating new successes in the future.

He emphasized that with solidarity, Antara will continue to develop and grow, continuing to play an important role in meeting the information needs of the community.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Communications and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid appreciated Antara's dedication to building an information ecosystem that maintains transparency and integrity in Indonesia over the past 87 years.

She stressed that Antara is an indispensable part of the government in building the information and communication ecosystem. Antara's role is becoming increasingly strategic, especially in the era of digital transformation, by ensuring reliable public information sources in the context of fake news flooding digital information.

Minister Meutya Hafid expressed his gratitude for Antara's cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Affairs in many digitalization programs to support information transparency; believing that Antara will maintain its role as a strategic partner of the government in the field of information and communication, and at the same time seize the opportunities from the digitalization process in Indonesia through the strong development of its services.

She pledged that the government's support for Antara will continue, in line with the development of a transparent and responsible information ecosystem in Indonesia./.
