Son Tra District People's Committee has directed relevant agencies to take action to completely resolve street vendors on this peninsula.
Street vendors in chaos, waiting for the force to "hide"
According to Tuoi Tre Online , recently, street vendors on the roads leading to Son Tra peninsula have become increasingly chaotic.
Hoang Sa Street, leading to Son Tra Peninsula - a place that attracts many tourists with famous attractions such as Da Beach, Linh Ung Pagoda... is becoming a spontaneous "flea market".
Street vendors appear everywhere on both sides of the road. Previously, there were only motorbikes selling cakes and snacks. Now, many trucks stop and set up stalls right on the side of the road. Some people even hang lights, set up grills, and arrange tables and chairs to sell food and drinks openly in places with beautiful scenery.
Stalls crowd the sidewalks, spilling out onto the road. During rush hour, tourists stop to buy, forcing other vehicles to avoid them, causing congestion and danger on steep curves.

An Australian tourist shared: "The first time I came to Da Nang, I really wanted to visit Son Tra because I heard a lot about the wild nature here. However, when driving up the mountain, I saw chaos on both sides of the road, and sometimes I was even stopped by street vendors offering to buy things. This affected my experience and was somewhat dangerous."
Not only selling during the day, street stalls are also bustling at night. It is worth mentioning that the vendors here are almost too familiar with the time when the functional forces suddenly patrol. At around 7pm, the functional forces patrol, the owners of these carts hastily pack their goods into a corner to "hide", then put them out for sale again.

Potential dangers from street vendors in Son Tra
In addition to traffic congestion, garbage from street vendors has also become a serious problem. Plastic packaging, foam boxes, straws, and tissues are strewn along both sides of the road.
Some vendors even collect trash and burn it on the spot, despite the no-fire signs. Many shops use makeshift cables for electricity, posing a fire hazard. Others solicit tourists to buy food to feed the monkeys, despite the fact that this is a prohibited practice.

Faced with this chaotic situation, the People's Committee of Son Tra district assigned Tho Quang ward to take the lead, coordinating with functional forces such as the Urban Regulation Inspection Team, the Management Board of Son Tra peninsula and Da Nang beaches to handle illegal businesses and street vendors that do not comply with regulations.
According to the direction, the authorities will focus on checking "hot" areas that are often crowded with visitors, posing potential risks of traffic safety and fire.
The district also requires increased handling of soliciting and soliciting behaviors that cause inconvenience and damage the beauty of bus stops and street vendor areas. Repeated behaviors that endanger tourists will be recorded and severely punished.
