(Dan Tri) - Through inspection, authorities determined that about 3,500m3 of land on a hill in Doan Ket village, Ayun Ha commune, Phu Thien district, Gia Lai province was continuously dug up and illegally exploited by "land bandits".

Recently, a hill in Doan Ket village, more than 1km from the People's Committee of Ayun Ha commune, Phu Thien district, has become the target of illegal land exploitation. This situation has lasted for a long time, causing the hill to be ragged, with thousands of cubic meters of soil being illegally transported.

According to a report from the People's Committee of Ayun Ha Commune, since the beginning of March, local authorities have continuously organized inspection teams at this location. Authorities have recorded illegal excavation and exploitation of land.

Upon verification, this land area is owned by Mr. N.D.V., residing in Doan Ket village, Ayun Ha commune. During the inspections, no vehicles or individuals were found exploiting, leveling, or improving the land.

However, the current situation shows signs of land exploitation and transportation, with many large piles of soil moved from high places to low places to improve the field surface but not yet leveled.

The Commune People's Committee has directed the authorities to consolidate the records to handle administrative violations and request Mr. V. to remedy and restore the status quo.

Recently, the Commune People's Committee continued to inspect and discovered that the land area next to the above location had been dug up over an area of about 0.9 hectares, with the ground surface lowered by nearly 1.3 meters.

Despite many inspections, the People's Committee of Ayun Ha commune has not yet discovered any machinery or vehicles illegally exploiting or transporting soil (Photo: Chi Anh).

The inspection team determined that about 3,500m3 of soil had been illegally transported out of the area. Faced with this situation, the People's Committee of Ayun Ha commune coordinated with the police to investigate and track down the person who illegally reclaimed and transported the soil.

According to the leader of the People's Committee of Ayun Ha commune, the case involved violations of land and minerals but the violators of mineral exploitation have not yet been identified. Because the scope and level of handling have exceeded the authority, the People's Committee of the commune proposed that the district consider assigning specialized agencies to advise and handle the violations according to regulations.

Faced with this situation, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee has issued a document assigning Phu Thien district to urgently inspect, verify information, strictly handle illegal mineral exploitation and report the results before March 20.

"After inspection, the subjects illegally exploited land at 2 locations with an area of more than 2 hectares. The commune determined that the above volume and area of exploitation exceeded the local authority, so it will continue to advise the district to handle it," informed the representative of the Ayun Ha Commune People's Committee.
