In the mountainous district of Muong Lat (Thanh Hoa), 813 cadres, teachers, and administrative staff of the district education sector have just received bonuses according to Decree 73/2024/ND-CP (dated June 30, 2024, abbreviated as Decree 73) of the Government - on implementing the 2024 reward fund.
From December 31, 2024, the Chairman of Muong Lat District People's Committee has issued a decision to approve and allocate the 2024 bonus fund according to Decree 73, transferring to school accounts with a total budget of more than 3.9 billion VND, so that schools can plan to reward cadres, teachers and employees.
Talking to Tuoi Tre Online , teacher Nguyen Duy Thuy - principal of Trung Ly Ethnic Boarding Secondary School, Trung Ly Commune, Muong Lat District - said that many years ago, every time Tet came, the school's board of directors and union had a "headache" because of worrying about Tet bonuses for staff and teachers.
As a public school in a particularly difficult area, regular expenses and professional activities depend on the state budget, with no revenue from socialization.
Therefore, every year the school saves money, but the Tet bonus for staff and teachers is only 500,000 VND/person.

"This year, implementing Decree 73, the school's staff and teachers received quite generous bonuses during Tet. After the district allocated more than 112 million VND, the school board met to discuss and properly award bonuses to 24 staff and teachers before Tet At Ty, with two levels: those who completed their tasks excellently were awarded more than 6 million VND, and those who completed their tasks well were awarded nearly 5 million VND" - teacher Nguyen Duy Thuy shared.
Receiving a bonus of nearly 5 million VND on the occasion of Tet, Ms. Bui Thi Cham - a teacher at Trung Ly Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities - happily said: "This Tet holiday is warmer and more prosperous for my family than previous years. With a much larger bonus on Tet than every year, I can spend it on buying Tet gifts for both my paternal and maternal families so that they can have more fullness."
In addition to Muong Lat district, thousands of cadres, teachers and employees in the education sector in the two mountainous districts of Quan Hoa and Quan Son (Thanh Hoa) also received bonuses according to Decree 73 before Tet At Ty 2025.
Each cadre, teacher, and administrative staff receives from more than 4 million to more than 6 million VND, depending on the employee's annual performance.
Decree 73 stipulates the basic salary and bonus regime for civil servants, public employees, and armed forces, issued by the Government on June 30, 2024. Bonuses are calculated based on outstanding achievements and the results of annual assessment and classification of task completion. This bonus fund is equal to 10% of the total salary fund (excluding allowances) of the receiving unit.
