According to information from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, thousands of teachers will receive bonuses according to Decree 73 after the Lunar New Year holiday.
"The City Party Committee and People's Committee have approved the proposal of the Department of Finance and the Department of Education and Training and submitted it to the People's Council for approval to pay bonuses to teachers. Teachers at all autonomous schools still enjoy benefits according to Decree 73," said the leader of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.
The bonuses are expected to be paid to teachers after the City People's Council meets and passes a resolution.

According to Decree 73/2024 of the Government, from July 1, 2024, cadres, civil servants and public employees will have a bonus regime based on work performance and annual assessment and classification of task completion. The annual bonus fund is determined by 10% of the total salary fund. This is the first time that cadres, civil servants and public employees have this amount.
Currently, schools across the country have implemented the transfer of bonuses according to Decree 73 to teachers. However, in Hanoi, more than 119 public high schools and more than 200 primary and secondary schools belonging to the group of public service units that ensure regular expenditures are not able to access the additional income according to this Decree. This makes teachers disappointed and worried.
At the end of December 2024, hundreds of teachers in the capital wrote a petition letter to the city's leaders to review regulations on autonomy and guide the implementation of Decree 73 of the Government to ensure teachers' rights.
In early January 2025, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and the Department of Finance met to discuss and agree on a plan to report to the City People's Committee to have a plan to support fully autonomous schools and units that have registered to order educational service prices.
Not only in Hanoi, about 1,800 teachers in Tra On district (Tra Vinh province) also almost lost their bonuses according to Decree 73. The reason is that Decree 73 takes effect from July 1, 2024, but the assessment of the level of task completion of education officials was signed and issued in May. After the Department of Education and Training of Tra On district requested the superiors to consider, the Department of Finance agreed to pay the bonus.
In Dak Lak, due to procedural problems between authorities, teachers were only able to receive this bonus on January 23.
