Thousands of athletes conquer Phu Van peak at Yen Tu Mountain Climbing Tournament 2025

According to the Organizing Committee, the Yen Tu Mountain Climbing Tournament 2025 - Conquering Phu Van Peak attracted about 4,000 professional athletes, amateurs, fans, people and tourists to participate and respond.

The Yen Tu Mountain Climbing Race 2025 has two competition distances of 5km and 8km. The race track is measured and standardized with the advice of major experts in Vietnam. The route is up to 1,068m above sea level, passing through the system of pagodas, hermitages, towers, pine trees, and bamboo forests of the Yen Tu Special National Monument.

The 700-year-old ancient pine road located in the middle of the sacred Yen Tu mountain is both a heritage and a cultural symbol in the place considered the cradle of Vietnamese Buddhism.

Athlete Vu Huu Tha (born in 1979, from Hai Phong City) shared that he often runs on the 21km track but this is the first time he has participated in a Mountain Climbing Competition like this. Mountain climbing takes a lot of health, so athletes need to be well prepared and trained to ensure safety during the competition.

Athlete Nguyen The Duc (21 years old - in Uong Bi, Quang Ninh) said: "Yen Tu Mountain Climbing Tournament 2025 - Conquering Phu Van Peak is a wonderful experience when going through beautiful roads imbued with cultural and historical colors. Next year, if the tournament is held, I will continue to participate and will train regularly to have better results".

Athletes must climb thousands of stone steps with an altitude difference of more than a thousand meters above sea level to reach the finish line at the Yen Tu Mountain Climbing Tournament 2025.

This is not only a sporting event that is highly anticipated by athletes, people and tourists, but also a testament to the strong recovery and sustainable development of the tourism industry; contributing to promoting the image of Yen Tu on the journey to turn the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac relic and landscape complex into a World Heritage Site.
