Mr. Vu Giang Lam, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Thai Binh City, said that in Thai Binh City, schools are selecting and using two sets of textbooks: Canh Dieu and Connecting knowledge with life for teaching.
The first semester quality assessment test for the 2024-2025 school year at the secondary level will take place from January 6 to 9, with 2 questions for 2 sets of books. Grade 9 will take the test on January 6, Grade 6 on January 7, Grade 7 on January 8, and Grade 8 on January 9.
At the 7th grade test on the morning of January 8, according to the original schedule, students took math tests (test time starts at 7:15) and English.
At around 7am, the Department of Education and Training received information from the Examination Council of Ky Ba Secondary School stating that the math examination for grade 7 was wrong. Specifically, the school taught and studied the textbook program Connecting knowledge with life, but the exam received was from the textbook program Canh Dieu.
Immediately after discovering the mistake, the department directed schools to stop distributing the exam questions, seal them, and submit all the questions to the department at 7:30 a.m. the same day.
At the same time, the school was directed to move the English test to the beginning of the class. After students completed the English test, teachers had students review math and literature until the end of the class according to regulations. The Department informed the schools to organize math tests for grade 7 students on the morning of January 10.
It is known that although the incident was discovered early and handled promptly, the leaders of Thai Binh City have requested the Department of Education and Training to review and re-evaluate the above negligence, clarify the collective and individual responsibilities, and not let it happen again in the next surveys...
Previously, as reported by Tuoi Tre Online , due to a mistake in the first semester math test for the 2024-2025 school year, thousands of 7th grade students studying at junior high schools in Thai Binh City were informed that the test for this subject would be "postponed" and would be retested on January 10.
Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online over the phone, a leader of the Department of Education and Training of Thai Binh province said the responsibility belongs to the city's Department of Education, but the department still has to report to the department.
