A series of universities in the Northern region have announced their enrollment plans for 2025. Among them, there are many top schools such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology, University of Commerce, Hanoi University of Education, Hanoi University, National Economics University, etc.

In 2025, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will maintain 3 stable admission methods: talent selection, Thinking Assessment test results and High School Graduation Exam results. With the method of considering the results of the High School Graduation Exam, Hanoi University of Science and Technology plans to reduce the enrollment quota from 50% to 40%; the enrollment quota for the Thinking Assessment test score selection method will increase slightly.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Trung - Deputy Head of the Department of Communications and Admissions, University of Commerce said that the admission quota and admission methods in 2025 are still similar to previous years, without much change. However, the school will make adjustments to the admission combinations to comply with the regulations and add some combinations to facilitate students.

In 2025, National Economics University will adjust the admission quota based on high school graduation exam scores to 15%, a decrease of 3% compared to 2024.

With the combined admission method according to a separate project, the school reserves 83% of the target; direct admission is 2%. In addition, the school will use 4 admission combinations instead of 9 combinations as in 2024, including A00, A01, D01, D07, with no difference in scores between the combinations, no additional criteria, all subjects are calculated with a coefficient of 1 when considering admission.

According to the 2025 enrollment plan, Hanoi National University of Education does not rely too much on the high school graduation exam. Reducing the number of admission quotas based on high school graduation exam scores is also included in the school's capacity assessment exam organization plan.

Meanwhile, Hanoi National University of Education 2 enrolls students in 2025 as follows: direct admission and priority admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; admission based on high school transcripts; consideration of high school graduation exam results; consideration of competency assessment test results of Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Hanoi National University of Education, Ho Chi Minh City National University of Education; admission using the school's own entrance exam results.

In 2025, Hanoi University will maintain 3 stable admission methods: direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, combined admission and admission by high school graduation exam scores.

In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education will stop considering high school transcripts for admission. The specialized competency assessment exam will become the main admission method. This method includes using 2 subjects for admission to each major, in which 1 main subject is multiplied by a coefficient of 2 and 1 secondary subject is not multiplied by a coefficient. In addition, the school considers admission based on high school graduation exams.

Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine has adjusted the enrollment quota for some majors compared to 2024, such as Traditional Medicine by 20%; Nursing by 10%. Pharmacy by 30%. The remaining majors will not increase their enrollment quota. The school will implement 6 admission methods in 2025, including: high school graduation exam results; direct admission according to the regulations of the admission regulations; using the results of the capacity assessment test, thinking assessment organized by other units for admission; using only international certificates for admission; combining high school graduation exam results with international certificates for admission; using other methods.

The University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University) will enroll students in three ways. Method 1 is direct admission and priority direct admission (up to 20% of total enrollment). Method 2 is admission based on the results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's 2025 Competency Assessment Test (about 40-60% of total enrollment). Method 3 is admission based on the results of the 2025 High School Graduation Exam (about 30-50% of total enrollment). Four subject groups for admission include: Math - English - Literature; Math - English - Physics; Math - English - Informatics; Math - English - Economic and Legal Education.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade organizes a specialized competency assessment test with Ho Chi Minh City University of Education for admission. Both schools use the same test results for admission purposes. After receiving the results, candidates use the score of 1 subject to combine with the results of 2 subjects in the admission combination. In addition, the school recruits 20% of the target from the transcript; admission is based on the high school graduation exam.

In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology will not use the method of considering high school transcripts based on 3 semesters, but will still maintain the method of considering high school transcripts based on a combination of 3 subjects in grade 12. The school will also add a method of using the results of the computer-based university entrance exam (V-SAT exam) for admission.

The school has 4 admission methods, including: considering the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam; considering the transcript based on the average score of 3 subjects in grade 12 with the condition for submitting the application being the average score of 3 subjects in grade 12 in the admission group reaching 18 points or higher; considering the results of the computer-based university entrance exam (VSAT exam); considering the results of the 2025 competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University.
