This year, more than 660,000 candidates registered for university admission with 3.4 million wishes. Of these, nearly 612,300 were admitted in the first round. However, according to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, nearly 118,000 of these candidates have abandoned their admission confirmation.
Experts say one of the reasons why students do not enroll is because they do not get into the field they want. Many students switch to college, vocational training at businesses, export labor, study abroad, and go to work.
Meanwhile, the whole country has about 250 universities. The total enrollment target is also about 600,000. According to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, schools are allowed to recruit additional students until December.
