Dozens of top designers gather at Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival

Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Nguyen Hong Minh said that the 2024 Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival will take place with many diverse activities, contributing to honoring and preserving the unique cultural beauty of the traditional Ao Dai of the Vietnamese people; making Ao Dai an impressive souvenir gift for international tourists when coming to Vietnam.

The 2024 Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival is a series of events. Some of them have been implemented since the beginning of August by the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the City Women's Union, the Hanoi Youth Union and related units, such as: The bicycle parade program "Ao Dai connecting tourism and heritage of Hanoi in 2024", the challenge "Check in Hanoi with Ao Dai", the challenge "Ao Dai Dance" - Ao Dai Dance, Ao Dai Design Contest, City Bus "Quintessence of Ao Dai", the program to launch Ao Dai month.

The highlight of the Festival is a series of activities taking place from October 4 to 6 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel relic site in Hanoi.

The opening ceremony with the theme “Hanoi – The Quintessence of Ao Dai” took place on the evening of October 4 at Doan Mon Square stage - Thang Long Heritage Conservation Center.

The opening stage will revive part of the image of the capital Hanoi's 70-year history with art performances and Ao Dai shows.

The program has the participation of hundreds of famous singers and artists and performances of ao dai collections by designers: Do Trinh Hoai Nam, Duc Hung, Quang Hoa, Cao Minh Tien, Miss Ngoc Han, Thuy Nguyen, La Hang, Vu Thao Giang, Luu Quynh Lan...

During the 2024 Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival, at the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, about 80 booths will be set up to promote, display and introduce Ao Dai products and accessories from famous designers and Ao Dai brands from the 3 regions of North, Central and South.

Another important highlight is the Ao Dai Carnival program taking place on the morning of October 5, which will be a large-scale performance and parade organized by the Hanoi Women's Union in coordination with the Department of Tourism.

The program will feature a parade of Ao Dai from Thang Long Imperial Citadel through the streets of Hoang Dieu - Hoang Van Thu - Doc Lap and back to Thang Long Imperial Citadel. It is expected that about 1,500 women of all ages wearing Ao Dai will participate in the event.

In addition, the Festival also has activities such as: The art program "Ao Dai Night" taking place on the evening of October 5 with the participation of 70 designers; The final round of the Ao Dai design competition on the afternoon of October 6...

Coming to the festival, people and tourists can also experience the exhibition space, displaying and introducing Ao Dai of designers, Ao Dai brands; tourism products, services, traditional craft villages; space for demonstrations and creation of works by artisans from Van Phuc and Trach Xa silk villages; space for folk games; space for enjoying "Thang Long Ngu Vi" cuisine introducing light dishes imbued with the essence of Hanoi...
