Recently, on social networking sites, a touching clip appeared recording the scene of dozens of students crying when they heard the news that their teacher was transferring to the city after 13 years of attachment.

The teacher in the clip is Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Duy (38 years old), a teacher at Son Lien Primary and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities (Son Tay District, Quang Ngai). Mr. Duy will officially transfer to Nghia Ha Primary School (Quang Ngai City) on October 14.

Teacher Duy said that because his mother was often sick and his two children were still young (5 and 7 years old), he transferred to a job closer to home to take care of his family. He also felt regretful about leaving the school he had been attached to for 13 years, since graduating.

On the evening of October 10, Mr. Duy went to the school's boarding house to say goodbye to his students and give special instructions to his class 4B, who was his homeroom teacher. Unexpectedly, the whole school was there. Seeing the students burst into tears and hug him, Mr. Duy was also choked with happiness and surprise.

"I will definitely visit the school and students often. I hope they will study hard to have a brighter future," Mr. Duy confided.

Mr. Duy said that because he often teaches at remote schools, having to cross muddy roads, he understands the hardships and disadvantages of students in the highlands. Especially during the rainy season, floods and landslides, he and his colleagues have to stay at the school for a whole month, many times wading through fast-flowing streams to go to the village to pick up students to class for peace of mind.

Later, there was a boarding system, students could stay at school to learn. Teachers were also closer to the students, caring and worrying about everything from their studies to their daily lives.

"Perhaps the children feel and show love for me in particular and the teachers at school in general," Mr. Duy confided.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa, Principal of Son Lien Primary and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, said that Mr. Duy devoted his youth and love to the students here, leaving a good impression in the hearts of his students, parents and colleagues.

On his personal Facebook page, Mr. Duy wrote: "13 years in a land full of love, where I have devoted the most beautiful youth of a human being. A place that has given me many loving memories, beautiful moments, experiences, memories, experiences... I will remember the rainy seasons, the times we shared a package of noodles together, the fights that lasted all night long, the endless arguments and many more memories...

Sorry for not being able to continue the journey with Son Lien education. Sorry to class 4B for not being able to go with you all the way to the end of the journey. Nothing more, I wish all of you at Son Lien Primary and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, my colleagues at Son Tay, and my friends and brothers and sisters at Son Tay good health and success. See you again...".
