The “Food Seoul 2024 Bangkok” exhibition is held in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), aiming to promote exchanges between domestic and international food-related companies of Korea and create commercial results.
The Business-to-Business (B2B) exhibition at True Icon Hall from October 18-20 will bring together 300 representatives from major distribution networks in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and South Asia for export business meetings. KOTRA and the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance economic exchanges between Korean and Thai food companies and strengthen institutional cooperation.
Meanwhile, a pop-up store at the SookSiam street food district will allow visitors to enjoy a variety of food and drinks from retail companies until November 3. The pop-up store is expected to attract 200,000 visitors, generating $400,000 in product sales.
Speaking at the exhibition, KOTRA Chairman Yu Jeoung Yeol emphasized that Thailand is an important export market in ASEAN, where Korean food companies are continuously expanding. Meanwhile, Korean Ambassador Park Yongmin said that culinary experiences are important for cultural exchange and relationship building. He hoped that the MoU between KOTRA and TCC will contribute to the common goal of Korea and Thailand to promote food as “soft power” globally.
TCC Secretary General Kitsana Vachekrilas praised the close cooperation in cultural, tourism and economic exchanges between Thailand and Korea. He affirmed that Korea is one of Thailand’s important trade partners and pledged to continue to maintain this relationship for the prosperity of both countries, expressing his belief that the “Food Seoul 2024 Bangkok” exhibition will be an excellent platform for Korean companies to accelerate and expand their business in Thailand as well as their Asian partners in the food and beverage industry.
