YONHAP. ​​South Korea is completing final preparations for a grand military parade today, September 26, to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Korea-U.S. alliance and the 75th anniversary of the founding of its armed forces.

YONHAP. ​​South Korea has decided to open the way for foreign companies to participate in the foreign exchange market in a bid to attract more foreign investment.

KOREA TIMES. South Korea and the United States have begun joint military exercises in waters off the east coast of Korea to strengthen their readiness to respond to military threats in the region.

CHINA DAILY. China hopes the EU will lift restrictions on high-tech products to China, Vice Premier He Lifeng said at a high-level economic and trade dialogue with European Commission Vice President and EU Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis in Beijing on September 25.

KYODO. Japan has proposed an initiative to revive the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) that Tehran and the P5+1 Group signed in 2015, according to Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian.

JIJI PRESS. Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio unveiled the main policy pillars of a new economic stimulus package expected to be drafted in October to boost wages and help households cope with rising prices.

PTI. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi affirmed that the India-Middle East-Europe economic corridor, also known as the Spice Route , will become the foundation of world trade for the next hundred years.

MINT. Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh formally inducted the first C-295 transport aircraft into the Indian Air Force (IAF) at the Hindon air base in the North.

DAWN. Pakistan's Drug Regulatory Authority has issued a temporary ban on the use of cancer drug Avastin pending an investigation.

CNA. The Republic of Singapore Air Force's F-16 fighter jets are being upgraded to enhance their capabilities and ensure their operational readiness until the mid-2030s, the Singapore Ministry of Defence announced.

ANTARA. A task force of Indonesian police and military forces suppressed and arrested Marthen Iba, a member of an armed Papuan separatist terrorist group operating in Teluk Bintuni district, West Papua province.

Europe

SWISS INFO. Swiss authorities have decided to strengthen border controls with Italy and refuse to accept migrants from the southernmost Italian island of Lampedusa.

REUTERS. French President Emmanuel Macron pledged to invest $150 million in the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to fight poverty and climate change in rural areas.

TASS. The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned Bulgarian Ambassador Atanas Krastin to protest Sofia's expulsion of a Russian Orthodox cleric last week.

AFP. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev pledged that the rights of Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh would be protected following Baku's victory in the breakaway region.

America

CNN. The United States and Ukraine signed a memorandum of understanding under which Washington will provide Kiev with up to $522 million to enhance the resilience of its energy system , according to the US Embassy in Ukraine.

REUTERS. The US State Department said in a statement that it signed a direct loan agreement of $2 billion to support Poland in modernizing its weapons.

BLOOMBERG. Canada's auto union Unifor has approved a new contract with Ford, providing some relief to the automaker as it stalemate over wages and benefits in the United States.

PRENSA LATINA. Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla said that a subject threw two petrol bombs at the Cuban Embassy in Washington DC, USA in what he called a "terrorist attack".

AHRAM. Egypt will hold presidential elections on December 10-12, the Egyptian National Election Authority announced on September 25.

AP. Mali's military government has announced it will delay presidential elections scheduled for February that were meant to return civilian leaders to power in the West African country.

AFRICA NEWS. Veterinary authorities from five southern African countries - Namibia, Angola, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe - are meeting in Namibia to address the growing threat of transboundary animal diseases (TADs) in the region.

AFP. Libya's prosecutor general Al-Seddik al-Sur has ordered the arrest of eight officials as part of an investigation into the recent flood disaster that killed thousands of people.

Oceania

ABC. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas have pledged AU$100 million ($64.2 million) to build and develop the Hydro Port Bonython hub near the town of Whyalla.

NEW DAILY. The Australian state government of New South Wales has pledged to spend an additional 6.8 million AUD (about 4.4 million USD) over the next three years to crack down on illegal e-cigarettes.

TAIWAN NEWS. A delegation of eight Australian parliamentarians has arrived in Taiwan (China) to discuss security and trade issues with senior officials on the island.

REUTERS. President Joe Biden announced that Washington has officially recognized the Cook Islands and Niue as two “sovereign and independent” countries and will establish diplomatic relations with them.
