The Inland Waterways Department of Region I has just announced restrictions on inland waterway traffic through Bat Trang commune (Gia Lam district, Hanoi) to serve the traditional festival in the area.
Accordingly, inland waterway traffic is restricted to serve the water supply ceremony and the lantern releasing ceremony on the Red River at the annual traditional festival of Bat Trang commune.

Accordingly, from 9:00 to 10:30 on March 23 and from 20:00 to 21:30 on March 25, 2024, to serve the Bat Trang communal house festival, waterway traffic will be restricted from Km169+000 to Km171+000 of the Red River.
From 10:00 to 12:00 on March 24, 2024, to serve the Giang Cao communal house festival, water traffic will be restricted from Km171+000 to Km173+000.
All inland waterway vehicles when arriving at the above river sections must strictly follow the instructions of the waterway traffic safety control force and the waterway signals installed in the area; Strictly comply with the Law on Inland Waterway Traffic.
It is known that Bat Trang village festival is usually held in the middle of the second lunar month, including the ceremony and the festival.
Accordingly, the water procession, the bathing of the memorial tablet, and the procession of the memorial tablet take place from Bat Trang temple and are carried to Bat Trang communal house. The water procession is the most important ritual of the festival, and the ritual is performed solemnly. After offering the ceremony to the river god, the celebrant will represent the villagers to ask for sacred water from the Red River and filter it through a red cloth to carry the water to Bat Trang ancient communal house.
