On October 24, a senior Hamas official said that the movement had informed Egypt of its readiness to stop fighting in Gaza, on condition that Israel meets a number of important demands.

The demands include Israel committing to a ceasefire, withdrawing troops from the Gaza Strip, allowing displaced people to return, agreeing to a prisoner swap and opening the way for humanitarian aid.

On the same day, Egypt's Al-Qahera News TV channel reported that a Hamas delegation led by deputy leader Khalil Al-Hayya met with Egyptian intelligence chief Hassan Mahmoud Rashad in Cairo to discuss proposals related to the ceasefire.

The meeting is part of the Cairo government's efforts to revive ceasefire talks, with the aim of improving the humanitarian and security situation in the region, the source said.

Egypt continues to pledge humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza, providing aid to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people amid the escalating conflict.

Earlier, on October 22, Cairo proposed a short-term ceasefire and prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas, setting the stage for a larger deal in the future.

Meanwhile, according to AFP , on October 24, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that Washington is leaving open "many different options" to end the war in the Gaza Strip, after months of promoting a US-led ceasefire plan.

Speaking to reporters while in Qatar, Mr. Blinken stated: "We have not yet determined whether Hamas is ready to negotiate, but the next step is to bring the negotiators together... We will certainly know more in the coming days."

On the same day, Mr. Blinken also announced an additional $135 million in aid to provide clean water, sanitation and health care to Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as in the region, bringing the total amount of US aid to $1.2 billion since the Hamas attack on October 7 last year.

Meanwhile, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said that his country, the US and Egypt are continuing efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and release Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners.

In this context, the Israel Forum for Families of Hostage and Missing Persons called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas to reach an agreement on the release of the hostages soon, stressing: "Time is running out for the hostages" and calling on the international community to put pressure on Hamas to end the humanitarian disaster.
